Boyd Tinsley donates proceeds from Twix commercial to "Feed The Children' and the "Hope Columbine-Library Fund"

As many of you may have noticed, Boyd is currently appearing in the new M&M/Mars TWIX commercial. All the proceeds from Boyd's fee have been donated to two important charities; the H.O.P.E. Columbine Fund and Feed the Children.

HOPE ("Healing of People Everywhere") is the foundation established by the families of those injured and killed in the massacre at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, in April 1999. The foundation is raising funds to complete the conversion of the existing school library, where most of the students died, into an atrium, and to construct a new library to the west of the school.

"Like all Americans I was shocked and profoundly saddened by the shootings at Columbine," said Tinsley. "When I found out what HOPE was doing, I felt that if I could help out, I would."

Says Rita Kahn, co-chair of HOPE: "The benevolence of individuals such as Boyd who are helping heal the wounds of Columbine is simply astounding. We at HOPE are deeply moved by Boyd's display of generosity." And Nancy Kernow, sister of Columbine victim Steven Kernow added: "I'm absolutely overwhelmed; I cannot thank Boyd enough. He's really opened his heart to our cause."

After hearing of Boyd's donation during the filming of the Twix commercial, M&M/Mars was inspired to match Boyd's contribution and made a donation to HOPE as well.

Boyd contributed the other portion of his earnings to the Oklahoma City based Feed the Children. This donation provided nine semi-tractor trailers loaded with food to help underprivileged children and their families across the nation.

To follow up this donation, on July 23rd, Boyd personally went to South Chicago to help Feed the Children deliver food and toys to thousands of families. Through Boyd's truck sponsorship, almost a million meal supplements are helping needy children and families in Kentucky, Texas, Virginia and the inner-city of Chicago.

Feed The Children is a nonprofit, charitable organization providing physical, spiritual, educational, vocational/technical, psychological, economic and medical assistance and other necessary aid to children, families, and persons in need in the United States and internationally.

Boyd hopes his donations will further inspire fans and artists alike to get involved and help raise awareness for these important organizations.
