Better best forgotten was the fifth single from the Step One album, its release was postponed because of the sucess of Tradgedy/Heartbeat but when it was eventually released in March 1999 Steps had 2 singles in the UK top 20 at the same time. It reached a high of number two in the charts selling enough copies to get to number one most weeks however it was kept off the top spot by comic releif's " The going gets tough ". This song was also the opener in their first UK tour.
