SILENT CRY

The KREPUSKULUM called with Dilpho Castro(G & V) and Suelly Ribeiro (Female Vocals), members of the notorious band of Atmospheric Doom Metal SILENT CRY, one of the largest revelations of America Latin's metal!

                     THE first part of the interview was answered by Suelly (FemaleVocals):

How did it happen its entrance for SILENT CRY?? Like you they do do to rehearse since you live in Santos(SP) and the remaining of the members in Governador Valadares(MG - other state from Brazil )??.

Suelly: Well, my entrance for SILENT CRY gave him in the beginning of 1995, when I belonged together with the old Keyboard man of the band. They were in search of vocal-feminine and more for game I ordered a ribbon play-back with some music, and which went my surprise to the knowledge that everybody liked and I am even today in SILENT.
Good, as the distance in a certain way it disturbs for we rehearse, I am going to Governador Valadares only when I need to insert the vocal ones in new music, there yes we took advantage of for we rehearse all together ones.

The letters of the album very sensitive healthy REMEMBRANCE, above all the writings for you how CELESTIAL TEARS and REMEMBRANCE, however we noticed a certain nihilism in them, what a glory to the darkness and the emptiness, inspires to write them?? Which its vision of the life and of GOD???

Celestial Tears and Remembrance were written in 1996, I always try to look for something in my readings, I read a lot of Charles Baudelaire, Cruz and Souza, Fernando Pessoa, Augusto dos Anjos, they actually contain that sad essence, even depressive, lamentations, as if they sought something that they never found... it is simply divine, pretty!
That with certainty influences me in the measure in that read them, therefore, it is exactly my vision before that whole universe! My vision of the life and of God it is the that all we are here for some reason. The doesn't maybe exist! Coincidence is just the ignorance of the fact! Nothing is destroyed or servant, everything is transformed. In agreement with own Einstein the energy is in everything, because every matter is energy. The energy is God. It is God it was not created, because he is! God is energy, so little it can be destroyed... All the manifestations of the healthy universe of God! This energy is governed by unalterable laws. The law of Karma is one of those unalterable laws.

 
Your vocals are sweeter and lyrical in the album, are you inspired by some lyrical singer, do you make voice exercises? And with relationship to the music New Age of ENIA and LORENNA MAcKENNIT, do you like those works??

Yes, I make some voice exercises, mantras , breathing exercises and I hear many works with vocal feminine! I adore Lise Gerard (vocalist of Dead Can Dances), Fortune, Enia, Lorena Mackenit, Liv Kristine of the Theatre of Tragedy, Haggard, taste a lot of New she Acts, classic music, I especially adore Arab music!!!

 
Do we also know that you study Ocultism, Alchemy and Gnose and is it participating of the creation of a mystic society, do speak to us a little of its work??

We are leading off the Ocultist fraternity, so that all those that are interested in working seriously on himself, dissolving the ego, waking up our conscience, because, only 3% of our conscience are awake and the 97% are made sleepy and concentrated totally in our psychological egos as the anger, lust, selfishness, jealousy, violence, etc... AND if we don't work now on ourselves, we will never free ourselves of the " sansara " wheel and we will be arrested in the internal worlds. That we needed urgently to eliminate our egos and we never pronounce or we use the personal pronoun me and we change for the KNOTS, because we should Be aware that are many and not just a, we can only like this free ourselves. It is the ocultist fraternity that teaches all the studies of our respectable master: Dr. Samael Aum Weor, possesses all the knowledge authentic ocultists.

Did you still participate more actively with its beautiful ones vocal in SILENT CRY debut album, as the process of composition of the band works and which is its participation in him???

Good, our composition process firstly bases on the instrumental part, later the vocal ones come. As soon as the instrumental part is ready, we inserted the vocal ones and it happens everything in a natural way, most of the time all the melodies were made in the hour... Everybody enters with its ideas and what goes better knots we recorded and we took advantage of.

Questions for DILPHO CASTRO (Guitars and Vocals):

How did they go the negotiations with to recording DEMISE? And which has the reception belonged to the public to the CD??

DILPHO: We Worked very on top of the demo... TEARS OF SERENITY, proposed until that appeared more!! Until that decided to throw in demo form it closes. Already in REMEMBRANCE were decided to only lasso the independent CD that Wilson Jr. (Demise Rec.) it was knowing that agent was without studio working in new material, she entered in contact, we accepted our proposals and he worked very fast with agent. To tell the truth he surprised us, therefore we were already deceived by other recording one... but if we had thrown independent, I think would not have half of the popularization that we will have with Demise. In the beginning it was a little complicated, because we were fed up with promises of recording national. So full that were really decided to throw independent. But we decided to do more a test with Demise. Up to now it is proving that nor all the recording ones national they are the same... About the reception, it is early a little to speak, therefore the CD left the oven now, but in this popularization beginning the people that already heard are making extremely positive comments. And we are very thankful...

The movement DOOM metal has been growing a lot in Brazil and in the World, SILENT CRY is one of the prominence bands in BRAZIL, it would like that the bands that it considers pointed seminal in that musical tendency, so much in the exterior as in Brazil. What do you think of bands as TIAMAT and MOONSPELL that had included elements dance and even techno in its last Cds?

It is they have really been appearing many good bands here in Brazil. I admire a lot: IMAGO MORTIIS, SERPENT RISE, ETERNAL SORROW, MEDICINE DEATH and another. But promising bands exist as ETERNAL SOLITUDE, MORTIFERIC, THUATA DANAN, etc... that with certainty shortly will be with CD. On TIAMAT and MOONSPELL if they are feeling well with its new tendencies the problem it belongs to them, I particularly didn't like these experiments a lot, but each one does what he/she wants, it is right of any person.

How does the composition process work in the band, since they congregate a nucleus of 6 peoples? Does a lot of divergence exist?? does Everybody participate of the compositions??

 
I think all the possible divergences exist (laughters). we are very attached with relationship to the feeling and our music has to express them well, you sometimes create something complex and not very sentimental this space type is not good for SILENT CRY, but the divergences serve so that the music is more worked and sentimental, everybody participates in the compositions.

 
In relation to the previous work (the CD demo " Tears of Serenity ") was SILENT CRY music still more melodic, sweet and melancholic, besides the participation of SUELLY in the vocal ones (divine for sign) did it increase considerably, the one what are those changes due???

The whole band matured plenty, TEARS OF SERENITY is a great demo, but at that time we were with a lot of hurry, because we were paying the hour in the studio. Now we worked more the vocal ones, keyboards, guitars, etc... with much more calm and peacefulness. The formation also moved, what also influences...
