Christianity

From the time we are infants, many of us are told stories of God. We are taught that almost everything we do is wrong. We are "sinners" for doing things that come with being a human. Is it so wrong to have confidence, or 'pride' in yourself, or lust after and feel desire for another human being? This is completley ridiculous. No one is safe from 'sinning'. What I can't understand is why someone would want to follow a religion that tells them everything they do is wrong. I respect that everyone has the freedom of choice, but when children are forced into church, or are brainwashed with CCD and the like, I think it is very unfair to the poor child. I was fortunate enough myself, in which my own parents never tried to influence me on which religion I should choose. I was baptised as a Christian, but that was the extent of my parent's religious proceedings. I have explored many religions to find which one would be right for me and I chose Satanism. I will say one thing now that is important. SATANISTS DO NOT WORSHIP 'THE DEVIL'!! The stereotype of Wiccans or Satanists is that they are evil, cruel people who do nothing but sacrifice innocent children and animals. THIS IS NOT SO. The only thing Satanists worship is themselves....the most important of the five Satanic Holidays is the individual's birthday. I know some of you reading this might be sitting there saying to themselves, "This poor person is doomed to Hell, they have a horrible misconception of Satanism." But why would I go to Hell for being confident and respectful of myself? I am not Christian, therefore I will not go to Hell, a place that Christians think all 'sinners', including people who are not Christian or Catholic, will go. Christians and the like know absolutely nothing about Satanism or Wicca. Wiccans are portrayed as evil witches who should be burned at the stake. A friend of mine is Wiccan and it is a very peaceful religion, contrary to many people's beliefs.

I'm not saying that all Christians are religious fanatics who go around handing out little pamphlets saying "God will save you", but most of them preach about how 'bad' it is to not have faith in Jesus Christ. They are very hypocritical and they contradict themselves a lot, often without realizing it. Many times, they do and say things that they tell everyone they will go to Hell for. There are other religions with 'requirements' and practices that I don't agree with, but I am attacking Christians because they attack anyone who is not a faithful Christian. Other religions don't contradict themselves and make other religions out to be what they are not.

Below are words taken from a pamphlet I was given a few days ago, entitled, "God's Simple Plan of Salvation". As you are reading, ask yourself if these things make sense.

My Friend: I am asking you the most important question of life. Your joy or your sorrow for all eternity depends on your answer. The question is: Are you saved? It is not a question of how good you are, nor if you are a church member, but are you saved? Are you sure you will go to Heaven when you die? God says in order to go to Heaven you must be born again. In John 3:7, Jesus said to Nicodemus,
"Ye must be born again."
In the Bible God gives us the plan of how to be born again which means to be saved. His plan is simple! You can be saved today. How?
First my friends, you must realize you are a sinner. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God!"
Because you are a sinner, you are condemned to death. For the wages (payement) of sin is death!" This includes eternal seperation from God In Hell.
Oh, so the reason man dies is because he's sinned? What about animals and plants? They die too...they must have sinned!!

Here is a brief excerpt from a sheet of paper I was given on my way into a Marilyn Manson concert:

When the lights go out, there will be darkness. In darkness is where the Devil resides. You will be vounerable to the Devil Himself! Save yourself! For the sake of God and your soul, PLEASE DON'T GO IN!!"
Ha. Nice laugh. I better not go in, or Marilyn Manson's going to sell my soul to the Devil Himself!!

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference." I saw this quote on the header of a letter that was sent to my mother, and I liked it a lot.
