Part 18 Part 18 of "Since Then"
"Nick, I know that face, let it go. Justin's a good guy and wouldn't do anything, and Jennifer loves you. They're smarter than you think." Brian said interrupting Nicks thoughts.
"I know B, it's just that I love her so much and I don't want to lose her." Nick said as Jennifer and Justin finally turned the corner out of Nick's sight.
"Your not going to loose her so cheer up, lets go." Brian said as he got a firm grip on Nicks arm and slowly led him away. Nick took in what Brian had said.
"He's right," Nick thought, "Justin wouldn't do that and Jennifer did say she loved me. I should stop worrying." With that the sound check started and Nick performed perfectly.

Meanwhile, Jennifer and Justin were getting along perfectly. They were talking, laughing and becoming great friends. Jennifer still thought he was really good looking, but realized that Justin makes a better friend than he would a boyfriend. Besides, what would be the point of breaking up with Nick and then going out with Justin, if he'd have her in the first place. She loves Nick and she knows that there is no point in even thinking of Justin in that way. She'll just keep Justin in mind in case anything happens between her and Nick.
"Jenn, Jenn, come in Jenn!" Justin was yelling at her waving his hand infront of Jennifer's face.
"Sorry Justin, I was just thinking."
"‘bout what?"
"About Nick."
"You really love him, don't you?"
"Ya, I'll admit that he is my first love and I could just be delusional thinking that I actually love him, but I feel something and its not just because he is famous either. What he does means nothing to me. If anything it can be a pain, but I'm babbling here so I'll shut up now."
"No, no!! What you have found with Nick is amazing and I'm happy for you. I haven't found anyone like that yet but I'm not worried cause I have a whole bunch of time to find her."
"Aww! Is Justin upset cause no one loves him?" Jennifer said while pinching Justin's cheek.
"Bite me!" Justin cried as he pushed Jennifer's hand off his face.
"I'm kidding!! But ya know Justin? You are one of the coolest people I have ever met. And your a great friend."
"I know what you mean chicky. Here." Justin said fishing something out of his pocket. He pulled out a piece of paper out of his pocket and a pen off the table and wrote something down.
"Here's my cell number, call me whenever you want to talk or meet up or something. Got it? If you ever need to talk to someone, I'm here."
"Yeah, yeah. Here's my cell number too," Jennifer said writing it down and handing it to Justin.

Jennifer and Justin continued talking for about half an hour.

"Thanks man. I'll do it. He should like it right?" Jennifer asked.
"Yeah, he'll love it." Justin agreed.
"I'll love what?" Nick asked as he suddenly walked into the room.
"Nick! What makes you think were even talking about you?" Jennifer said with a smirk.
"Just hoping I guess," Nick said with a smile as he walked over to Jennifer and gave her a gentle kiss before pulling her up to her feet.
"Are we leaving now Nick?" Jennifer asked.
"Yep, we gotta get back to the hotel. But I'm taking you out this afternoon so I got to get back to the hotel and get showered." Nick said as he smiled at the thought of what he and Jennifer were going to be doing that afternoon.
"Ok. Justin, I'm glad we met and I'll see you tonight." Jennifer said as she winked at Justin. She walked over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "See you tonight, don't forget..."
"Don't worry," Justin interrupted. "I know. See ya Nick," Justin said as he and Nick did that hand thing.
"Bye." Nick said as he took Jennifer's hand and led her out into the hallway.
"Bye," Jennifer called over her shoulder to Justin.
"Bye," Justin called after them.
"So what did you and Justin do?" Nick asked.
"We talked and bonded and got along perfectly. He's a really funny guy and he's gonna be a great friend." Jennifer replied.
"Oh," was Nicks only response.
"Nick, don't worry about Justin, even if he did want me, I'd still choose you."Jennifer said as she gave Nick's hand a little squeeze.
"I know. I wasn't even worried." Nick said.
"Sure." Jennifer said with a smile as she and Nick got onto the bus and headed to the hotel.

"Nickolas Gene Carter!! Get your butt out of that shower right now!!" Jennifer yelled.
"Hold on a sec." Nick yelled from inside the shower. Jennifer was fuming and she tapped her foot angrily on the ground as she waited for Nick.
Nick came running out of the shower, dripping wet with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"What? What's wrong?" he asked.
"What is this?" Jennifer asked while holding up a white silk bra in her hand.
"Where'd you get that?" Nick asked.
"From your bed, who's is it?" Jennifer asked, hand on her hip in her pissed off position.
"My bed? I don't know why it would be there." Nick said honestly.
"Nick, I'm not stupid, why was it there?"
"Jenn, I honestly don't know." Nick said sincerely.
"Nick," Jennifer was interrupted by a knock at the door and Nick went to go answer it.
"Nicky!! Did you get my gift?" a very pretty girl with long brown hair asked. She looked as though she was a model.
"Melanie! I haven't seen you in 2 years! You look...." Nick paused as he looked Melanie up and down. " Ahh, good. I mean, what were you doing in my room, and why are you here?" Nick asked the girl.
Jennifer saw this and ran out of Nicks room and into hers with tears forming in her eyes.
"I needed to see you again." she answered.
"I haven't seen you in 2 years, remember? When I told you it was over?" Nick asked rudely.
"Ya, but I miss you and I love you Nicky." she wined.
"Well I don't love you and don't call me Nicky. I love someone else."
"What? Who?" she yelled.
"That is none of your business. Now leave before I call security."
"But Nicky..." Melanie started.
"Go and please don't contact me again. Its over." Nick said before shutting the door. He had gone back into his room to try to talk to Jennifer but she was gone so he guessed she had left through the adjoining doors. He quickly got dressed before knocking, then entering into Jennifer's room. He found her in tears on the phone with Justin.
"I'm sure its just a misunderstanding, I don't think Nick would do that to you." Justin said gently.
"I hope so," Jennifer looked up and saw Nick standing in the doorway. "Umm Justin I gotta go, he's here and I need to talk to him.
"O.K.,good luck," Justin said.
"Thanks, see you tonight. Bye." Jennifer said.
"Bye," Justin said as Jennifer shut her cell phone.
"Ok Nick, explain." Jennifer said as she wiped her tears away and turned her attention to Nick.
"Well that girl was Melanie and I met her at a concert 2 years ago. She had a backstage pass and we talked backstage for awhile. I asked her out and she agreed. Trouble is, she worked for a magazine and she recorded the whole date. She then said she loved me and all this garbage about how she wanted to be my girlfriend. She was too clingy for me so I told her I couldn't see her anymore. She cried in front of me and then published in her magazine that we were dating and she had a tape to prove it. It was a this huge scandle and a pain in the butt. So she must have found out where I was staying and somehow got into my room and left the..ah..bra there. I swear Jennifer, I didn't do anything. Please believe me."
Jennifer looked deep into Nicks crystal blue eyes and saw that he was telling the truth.
"Nick I believe you, but I'd like to know if you still like her or something."
"No way!"
"Just make me this promise Nick, if you ever are having an affair, not saying that you will but if you ever do, tell me. Even if it hurts me."
"I promise, but Jennifer I never will. I'd never do that to you."
"I hope so, and Nick, I'm sorry I got so mad, it just looked so bad."
"I know and I'm sorry for that. Melanie's really annoying."
Jennifer pauses and then spoke up.
"Nick, you should thank Justin."
"What do you mean?" Nick asked.
"Well he told me to listen to you and that he didn't think you would ever do that to me. If I hadn't of called him then I might have left and gone home. I have a really bad temper and I do stupid things when I'm mad."
"He really told you that I wouldn't do that?" Nick asked.
"Yep. Why? Did you think he'd tell me to leave you and come to him?"
"Well..."
"Nick, he's a good guy and you should give him a chance. Don't be so jealous."
"Jealous?!? Who just accused me of sleeping with someone else??"
"Well...."
"Ha!! Your so cute when you know I got you." Nick said as he cornered Jennifer and gave her a kiss.
"You look pretty cute yourself Mr." Jennifer said as she brushed back a piece of wet hair from Nicks face.
"Oops!" Nick cried as he looked at his watch. "We gotta go."
"Where?"
"Just come on," Nick said as he grabbed Jennifer's hand and led her out of the room.
