Part 19 Part 19 of "Since Then"
"Nick, is this really necessary?" Jennifer wined as Nick put a blindfold on her.
"Yes, this has to be a surprise," Nick said as he finished putting her blindfold on and then sat back in his seat.
"Where are we going?" she wined.
"It's a surprise," Nick said as the cab pulled into a parking lot and let the two out. Nick paid the driver and then helped Jennifer out of the car.
"Nick, I hate this. Why can't you take this silly thing off?" Jennifer asked as she toyed with the blindfold.
"Because. Now I have to pick you up so hold on." Nick said before putting his arms underneath her and picking her up.
"Ahhh!! She screamed. "Nick put me down!"
"We're almost there." Nick said. "Ok, here we are," he said as he set her down.
"Can I take this off now?" she asked.
"Yup."
Jennifer took her blindfold off and her eyes widened at what she saw. They were at the beach and the sun was slowly setting. They were on a blanket and there was a bottle of wine beside Nick with 2 glasses.
"Nick," Jennifer started. "This is so sweet. Why all this?"
"Well the next couple of days are going to be very busy and this might be the only time together for a while so why not enjoy it?"
"Nick," Jennifer sighed. "What about your fans? Won't anyone notice you?"
"Look around Jennifer," Nick replied. There wasn't anyone in sight. "I asked the cab driver before we got in where the most secluded beach was."
"Aww, Nick. This is so nice."
"Thanks, I was hoping you'd like it. Here," Nick said as he popped the cork on the wine and poured her a glass. "I got Brain to get this for us. He said it was the best."
Jennifer took the wine from Nick and took a sip. She then spit it out.
"YUCK!!" She screamed. "What is this?"
"What's wrong with it?" Nick asked.
"Here," Jennifer said as she handed the glass to Nick. Nick took a sip and spit it out too.
"Thats disgusting! I knew I shouldn't have gotten Brian to get it for us."
"Don't worry about it." Jennifer said as she began to laugh. "We'll get him back."
"Definatly." Nick agreed.
"Well lets not let this ruin today." Jennifer said as she got comfortable on the blanket.
Nick and Jennifer got comfortable on the blanket, watching the sunset as they plotted ways to get Brian back.

After about 2 hours, Jennifer and Nick headed back to the hotel and got ready for the concert.

Jennifer and Nick only had about half an hour to get ready before the concert because they took so long at the beach. Nick took a shower and threw on a blue Nike short sleeved t- shirt and a pair of cargo pants. He put on his new pair of Nike shoes and ran his hands through his hair before knocking on the adjoining doors to get Jennifer.
Jennifer quickly showered because Nick and her had had a sand fight on the beach and she had lost. She had a ton of sand in his hair and after scrubing her head a lot all the sand was finally gone. She had done a quick make-up job and thrown her hair into a weird twist, clip thing that somehow looked really good. She was wearing a knee length black tight skirt from Club Monaco and a white lycra shirt that went down to her elbows and had a low neckline, also from Club Monaco. She had on a pair of black slip-on sandles with a 2 inch heel.
Nick walked in just as Jennifer was looking herself over in the full length mirror. "You look great," Nick said as he slipped his arms around her waist.
"I don't know. I'm missing something." she said as she rubbed her hand over her neck.
"You mean something like this?" Nick asked as he put a necklace on around her neck.
"Nick! What's this?" Jennifer asked as she looked down at the necklace. Her mouth opened in shock as she noticed what it was. It was a gold chain. Hanging from the chain was a tiny gold elephant.
"Nick! How did you know?" she asked as she turned to face Nick.
"Well, I could just say I guessed but then that would be a lie, so... well I called your parents and explained the situation to them and they told me you love elephants."
"My parents? The situation? What situation?"
"Well normally in this case, a guy would give a girl his class ring but I don't have one so I got you this instead."
"Class ring? Aww Nick. Are you asking me to go steady with you?"
"Well... ya." Nick replied. "And..."
"Well...ya!!!" Jennifer replied mocking Nick as she put her hands around Nicks neck and gave him a huge hug.
Just then, Jennifer's cell phone rang.
"Oh, just a sec Nick." Jennifer said as she ran over to her phone and picked it up off the dresser.
"Hello?" she asked into her phone.
"Hey, Jenn,"
"Oh hey Justin, whats up?"
"Well I talked to everyone and everythings all set."
"Great!! I can't wait." Jennifer said excitidly as she looked over at Nick who looked confused.
"When are you guys coming?"
"Well, we're actually about to leave now, so I guess i'll see you guys in about 20 minutes,"
"Ok, see ya then."
"Tell everyone I say hi,"
"Ok, see ya." Justin said about to hang up the phone."
"Justin, wait. Can I ask you a question?" Jennifer asked this while motioning for Nick to get his stuff so they could leave.
"Yep, shoot," Justin said.
"Your leaving tomorrow right?" she asked this kinda slowly, like she was afraid to hear the answer. She grabbed her purse and followed Nick out of the door as she waited for Justins response.
"Well actually Jenn, we leave tonight right after the show.
"Oh," was Jennifers only response.
"Hey! Babe, don't worry about it. Well see each other tonight, and after that, we'll call. Don't worry about it, just get down here already." Justin said. He could tell that Jennifer was upset.
"I know, it's just, hey wait, did you call me babe?"
"Ya, is that a problem?" Justin asked.
"No, it's just that no one has ever called me that before, I like it," Jennifer said with a smile as Nick and her got into the cab.
"Well then babe, thats your new nickname," Justin said, happy to hear Jennifer happy again.
The two had gotten very close since yesterday. They had a friendship they knew was going to last.
"And now get your butt over here so I can give you a hug."
"Ok, see you in a few."
"Got it, see ya babe,"Justin said as he hung up the phone.
