Part 5 Part 5 of "Since Then"
The door opened to reveal A.J. his hair a red flame color. "Nick, man. Who's this beautiful woman?" A.J. said eyeing Jennifer up and down. Nick noticed this and put him arm around Jennifer. Jennifer was puzzled.
"A.J., this is Jennifer, Jennifer this is A.J." Nick said glaring at A.J.
"Hi! Come on in guys," A.J. said backing away.
Nick led Jennifer in with his arm still around her. As they entered Jennifer noticed a lot of people she recognized.
"Hey guys," Nick said.
"Nick! Hey! Is this Jennifer?" Brian asked.
"Yep, Everyone this is Jennifer, Jennifer this is Brian, Howie, Kevin, Kevin's girlfriend Sarah and Donna our manager."
"Hey," Jennifer said.
They all said "hello" and went back to what they were doing.
"Bri?" Nick asked, "where's Aaron?"
"Ah, he's in his room with his Tudor and I think your moms there too," he replied not looking up from the game he was playing.
"Ok, were gonna go see them. Well be back later."
"See ya," Brian said.
When Jennifer and Nick left the room Nick removed his hand from around her and took her hand, then knocked on the door.
A tall blond woman opened it. "Nicki, you know Aaron's studying right now," she said.
"I know Mom, there's someone I want you to meet. Mom, this is Jennifer, Jennifer this is my mom."
"Hello, Jennifer," Mrs.Carter said extending her hand.
"Nice to meet you Mrs.Carter," Jennifer said as she shook her hand.
"Call me Jane. So your the friend from grade four right?"
"Yep."
"Nick was telling me about you. How log are you staying with us?"
"Two weeks." Jennifer said politely.
"Oh yes! Things can get pretty hectic around here, so be prepared." she warned just as Aaron came running in the door.
"Hi!"he said happily.
"Hello," Jennifer said.
‘Aaron, this is Jennifer, Jennifer this is my brother Aaron," Nick said.
"Is she your girlfriend?" he asked bluntly.
" No!" he said quickly.
"Then why are you holding hands?" he asked.
"Because..."Nick looked up at Jennifer frantically.
"Because I was nervous to meet you two so Nick was making me feel better," Jennifer said looked at Aaron.
"Oh!" Aaron said.
"Well it was nice meeting you Jennifer but Aaron has to get back to hi schoolwork," Jane said.
"It was nice meeting you too. Bye Aaron," Jennifer said.
"Bye Nicki," Jane said as she reached over and hug Nick. Nick let go of Jennifer's hand and hugged her back. Jane whispered in Nicks ear: "She's a nice girls Nick. Very pretty, don't do anything stupid and Nick....be good to her."
"Ok Mom" Nick said as he and his Mom separated. "See ya Aaron."
"Nice meeting you two," Jennifer said.
"BYE!" Aaron yelled.
"Aaron! Honestly, must you always..." Jane said as she shut the door.
