Part 6 Part 6 of "Since Then"
"See, that wasn't that bad," Nick said as he walked down the hallway looking at Jennifer.
"I know, they're all really nice,' she said.
"Yeah! But Aaron and his questions! He gets a little hyper when he's studying," Nick confessed.
"I thought so. He's really cute. I guess looks run in the family," Jennifer said.
Nick looked at Jennifer and smiled, Jennifer panicked. "Shoot! Was that a little obvious? It just slipped out!" she thought.
"Jenn?" asked Nick.
"Yeah?" she asked stopping in front of her doorway.
"Do you wanna go to the beach later on?" Nick asked.
"Sure" Jen said enthusiastically.v "But first, as a big welcome from all of us, did you want to come out for dinner with all of us? Its kinda a tradition." Nick said. " When we get to a new town we all go for dinner together. So wanna come? Afterwards we can go to the beach."
"I'd love that. When are we leaving?"
"Ahh, at 6:00."
"Oh, that gives me enough time for a little nap right? I'm getting a little tired."
"Sure, but be ready by 6 ok? I'll come get you then, we'll go together, like a date, I guess, if you want."
"That sounds great. See you then." Jen said as she opened her door, gave Nick a little wave and shut the door.
"Phew!" she thought, "it's 4:30, this gives me 1 hour and a half to get ready." Jennifer did not need a nap, she wanted extra time to get ready. She unpacked her stuff, took a nice relaxing bath, then curled her hair. She decided on a nice outfit: white khakis, a white tank top with a button up black shirt over top and her black platform open-toed shoes. By the time she had done her make- up, very subtle, like she had heard Nick liked; her hair, curled very nicely; and gotten dressed. She sprayed herself with a squirt of her favorite perfume, the one she wore on dates which seemed to turn the guy on; then she checked herself, one last time in the mirror and popped in a breath mint.
Meanwhile Nick was in his room worrying about what he was going to wear. He had Brian helping him.
"Brian, what am I supposed to wear? Its casual, but I want to look good."
"Nick, Nick, calm down! Why are you freaking out? Its just a dinner with friends and family. And didn't you tell me that you just wanted to be friends with her? Why are you worrying about how you'll look then?"
"I know I said that, but she's so.....so....special. She's so pretty, she's funny, smart and i'm comfortable with her, I don't know." Nick said.
"Sounds like you like her," Brian said.
"I guess, but what am I supposed to wear." Nick said.
"Calm down, try this....." Brian said as he held up some clothes. Nick finally decided on a Ralph Lauren blue button up shirt, Ralph Lauren white khakis and Nike white shoes, with the same blue color checks on them. He squirted himself with Gravity, grabbed the rose he had got her off his dresser and left to go pick up Jenn.
"Thanks Brian," Nick said on his way out.
"No prob, good luck."

Nick took a deep breath before knocking on Jenn's door. Nick looked at the ground taking one last breath before looking up and seeing Jenn.
As Nick saw her his mouth dropped.
"Jenn, wow!! You look....beautiful." Nick said as he held out the single red rose.
"Aww Nick!! A rose? That's sooo sweet!" Jennifer said as she accepted the rose and gave Nick a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank-you."
"No prob," Nick said as his cheeks became flushed. "Ready to go?"
"Yep, just a sec," Jennifer said disappearing for a moment before re-appearing with again, this time with her small black purse. "Lets go."
