Part 7 Part 7 of "Since Then"
Dinner was a great success. Jennifer talked and got to know everyone a little bit better. She bonded the most with Howie, Brian and Nicks mother. A.J. seemed to think that if he got to know Jennifer, Nick would think he was flirting with her. Kevin was talking with his girlfriend Sarah most of the time and Aaron was talking with Nick most of the time. Nick and Jennifer didn't talk much during dinner, it seemed that everyone wanted to talk to Jenn and hear about Nick when he was younger. After dinner, Nick and Jennifer said bye to everyone and headed to the beach.
"Dinner was really nice Nick," Jenn said once they got to the beach. "Everyone is really nice, especially your mom. She reminds me of my mom."
"I'm glad you liked it. We didn't really get to talk much though, like I had hoped."Nick said.
"Well we have all night now." Jenn said as she took a deep breath and took Nicks hand. She had wanted to do that for awhile and decided to go for it. Nick smiled when she took his hand. They walked for a couple minutes in total silence, each of them thinking of the other person. Finally Jenn got up the nerve to break the silence.
"Nick,"
"Yeah," he said stopping and looking out at the ocean.
"I wanted to thank you again for everything. Bringing me here, introducing me to everyone, talking me to dinner and now here, and most of all, letting me get to know you. I didn't really know what I could do for you before my flight, but I did get you something."
Nick turned from the ocean, to look at Jenn.
Jenn reached into her purse and pulled out a long box. She placed it in Nicks hand.
"What's this?" Nick asked.
"My thank-you." She replied.
Nick opened the box to reveal the silver necklace. Nick smiled and looked up at Jenn. "Aww Jenn, I don't know what to say,"Nick said closing in on her for a hug.
"Actions speak louder than words," Jennifer mumbled under her breath.
"Yes, I guess they do.." Nick said as he looked into her eyes, than slowly moved closer to her and gently kissed her.
Jenn was so surprised at this that she moved away from him.
"Sorry, Jenn. I shouldn't of done that,"
"No, no Nick. I was just surprised that's all. But it would've been better like this...." she said as she kissed him. This time wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling herself closer to Nick.
Nick then wrapped his arms around her waist. They shared the kiss for quite some time. When they eventually separated, the looked at each other and laughed.
"That was the best first kiss I've ever had," Jenn said laughing.
"I couldn't agree more." Nick said. "It meant a lot to me."
"It meant a lot to me too. But where do you want this to go? Is this going to be a fling or something more?" Jenn asked, serious now.
"I'm hoping this can be something more. I like you a lot Jenn. This night has been a lot of fun for me. The best night I've had in quite awhile. And that kiss was amazing."
"Yeah," Jenn said blushing. "Nick, do you want to try.....dating? Or are you seeing someone now."
"Jenn, if I was seeing someone now, I wouldn't be kissing you. One girl at a time is good enough for me. And ya, dating sounds like a great idea."
"So, its settled then?" Jenn asked.
"It's a done deal," Nick said as he moved in for another kiss.

The two spent the rest of the evening on the beach. They talked all night and didn't get back until around 1 am. When the arrived at Jenn's room, they shared a good night kiss and left each other with a warm bubbly feeling. They were in love.
