Counting Crows....Across A Wire Live In New York City \ DGC DGCD2-25222 T-Bone...This limited edition Live 2 CD set is basically the bands recordings of 2 television shows...VH1's Storytellers & MTV's live from the 10 spot...they were both taped in late 1997...the 10 spot CD is actually the final show of the tour...Nice way 2 end it all 'eh?? The Storytellers CD has been edited to just give ya the music & not the stories....there are some amazing versions of their songs on this release...I love the Intro 2 "Mr. Jones"....& the changed lyrics throughout the cds show ya just how witty & timely these guys are....2 quote Bill Flanagan from the liner notes of the CD.."I don't know if there's any logic to a band with only two albums putting out a double concert CD". He continues with, "...It's good to hear musicians in the process of discovering what they can do together and finding new ways through their songs. When you listen to the music it makes all the sense in the world." I strongly recommend this 1....check it out...Buddy Guy & Junior Wells.....Last Time Around-Live At Legends \ Silvertone Records 01241-41629-2T-Bone.....This was recorded @ Buddy's nightclub "Legends" in Chicago in March of '93....& as they roll through some of the greatest songs in the blues, it showcases just how great these 2 were 2gether....'nuff said...check it out 4 yo'self

Pearl Jam...Live On Two Legs \ Epic EK 69752 Ham Bone.....but don't let that classification fool ya....this 1's excellent....I personally think the quality of the recording could've been alot better....in a few places it lacks that "drive" that the song deserves....but'cha should still get this one......the addition of the Neil Young lyrics 2 the end of "Daughter" is awesome.....( & I was gonna pull out all of my Neil Young stuff & find which song Eddie's barrowing from...I know the lines...just don't know which song it's from ... :-( ...2 late now I guess...) Aerosmith...A Little South Of Sanity \ Geffen GEFD2-25221Ham Bone.....this 2 cd release features all the their hits...& it's good 2 listen 2....it sounds great 'n all ....but it was rather expensive....like $28 'er somethin'.....unless yer a big fan or you don't have any of their greatest hits releases...I really wouldn't advise it....unless ya can get it cheaper.....
Emmylou Harris....Spyboy \ Eminent Records EM-25001-2Ham Bone....Special Thanx goin' out 2 UP 4 this gem.....she turned me on 2 it.....& now I'm turnin' U on 2....This 1 is phenominal...the song "Calling My Children Home" is just about as beautiful as it can get...& her version of the ol' Nazerath classic" Love Hurts" is great also....check into this 1....Woof!!
Mighty Blue Kings...Live From Chicago \ R Jay Records/ Red Ink WK 51826Ham Bone....I saw this in the record store after I took back some X-mas gifts& picked it up w/ my "new-found" cash....I love it...It's has a Brian Setzer sound 2 it....I'll haveta check these guys out whenever they come around again..."Green Grass Grows All Around" sounds like it'd be hard 2 do everynite.....they must be "ironmen" 'er pretty talented!!! John Lennon...Anthology \ Capitol Records C2 7243 8 30614 2 6 Ham Bone.....This 4 CD Boxed Set covers John's solo years & like The Beatles Anthology's B4 it...it's based on different studio takes, live performances ...but unlike The Beatles releases...this has some of John's home recordings of songs which shines a different light on them....but when I listened 2 them 1 after the other...I got tired of hearing John say "1.....2.....3.....4" B4 the songs....no biggie 'er anything I just found it a lil' annoying after awhile.....Check into it if ya haven't already.....it's pretty goodBruce Springsteen....Tracks \ Columbia CXK 69475 Ham Bone....This is a Boxed Set of basically stuff that never made it on any of his earlier releases....The 1st CD has a few demo versions of stuff from his 1st album....but other than that it's all new......well "Old-New"....hehehehe....some of this stuff has been out on bootlegs & 4 those who do....this sounds sooooo much better than those.....(not that I have any unathorized material or anything)...but if yer a fan of The Boss....this 1's a must....get it...oh, it's a 4CD jobbie alsoTaj Mahal....In Progress & In Motion 1965-1998 \ Columbia Legacy C3K 64919 Ham Bone....this 1's a 3CD release & a lil' lighter on yer wallet....it's a great way 2 expierence the blues 1st hand from 1 of it's masters....this is Taj from the early beginings 2 his recent Grammy award winning cds....I personally prefer 2 listen 2 CD 1....just throw it in & enjoy....but it's all good...but there's not a bad tune on #1....the others I've found my self programmin' the lame songs out....but that's just me.....if ya wanna know mo 'bout Taj....just Click
