01 Sector 7 [5:58]
Heavenly mellotron sounds over layered with some wave-effects and floating
percussion ticks
start the trip.
After 1:30 minutes a quick deep sounding tom-tom drum sequence suddenly
interrupts the *silence*
and then the mellotron comes back to meet a nice dancing synth flute
melody.
Analogue heaven :).
Some nice "Roland vocoder" choir chords can be heard to. Sounds similar
to Klaus Schulzes
"X" vocoder heaven.
Definitely the best track. A brilliant video, done by the "Labor for
Intervision" is available too.
The computer graphics fit perfectly to Sector 7.
02 Collision [9:43]
Anyone should be familiar with the basic rhythm: It's very similar to
"Trans Europe Express"
by Kraftwerk :-) The basic sequence fit perfectly to the rhythm and
they add a nice
*frog* sounding deep sequence which sounds as played with a TB-303.
Floating synth chords and some melodically fragments complements this
nice tune.
I´d call it ICE, Intercity Express (German high speed train),
BTW ;-)
03 Flood [8:52]
Mmmh. We are underwater now. Diving on the Maledivean Islands.
Cool underwater sounds and effects and then it starts:
A typical "Sequencerabfahrt" (Sequencer ride) as Mind~Flux call it themselves.
Over layered analogue sequencer lines, string synths and again: the
synth flute!
Sounds like Encore with 90s trance elements.
Keep on Dreaming :-)
That's what I wanna hear on TD´s Dream Mixes 3.
Damn! It´s over :(
04 Magnetic Distortion [6:17]
This is a slower piece with a nice chord harmony and some single notes.
mmmmmhh, hhhaaaahhh, daaaaahh, de, duuuuhhhh
Added by some percussion and a bass-line sequence which
creates a kinda melody.
05 Labilator [7:51]
Turn up the speed a beat and fasten your seat belts...
It starts with a very peaceful atmosphere...Vocoder choirs and some
sequences
one after the other.
Wush! The driving drums-beat starts. The sequences are building melodies
like
in Ricochet part II. The head bobs.
This is upbeaten but not aggressive in any way :-)
Ambient House EM I´d call it.
06 The Garden [11:47]
Slow Oriental rhythm, the melody and the whole atmosphere is very psychedelic,
the sequence sounds very Froesean (like one of the tracks on Pinnacles)...
A Vocoder says something like "discard the universe, five brains complete".
Mind~Flux are playing with new influences.
After 4:45 minutes a slow 808 4/4 bass drum turns in, it is developing.
At the 6 minutes mark some Baumann "Romance ´76" sequences are
added.
Cool, that piano/synth melody. Peter is back :-)
The often I hear this CD the more I like it...
The "universe" vocoder turns in again...
After 10:46 minutes the final part starts again.
We are leaving the oriental garden.
07 Electric Valley [7:45]
Mellotron, sweepy sound effects. This is very Jarresque, the string
synth are sounding
like "Oxygene".
1:45: The next sequencer ride begins. A sequencer tour de 70s.
Cool rhythmic patterns. Forget Tangerine Dream, these are the real
TD of the 90s :-)
08 Clatou [10:02]
This time nice synth flute melody meets a dub bass line.
After 2 minutes a 808 snare drum begins to roar in the background..
The rhythm develops during the next 2 minutes.
After 4 minutes a slow arpeggio-melody and a steaming synth-rhythm
guitar
can be heard.
It´s a slower piece but not to sweetish for my taste.
09 Ektafreeze B [4:17]
Strange sounds, very slow. Psychedelic EM with some guitar-like melody
fragments.
The 808 is frozen, only a heart beat of the bass drum can be heard.
