LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES...

...let's go see the stars...
Here are some tips of good movies of all kinds; romantic, sad, thrilling and scaaaaary!

GOOD WILL HUNTING

A really, really, truly wonderful movie. This is the kind of movie that leaves you feeling happy and warm for the rest of the day. You probably know the story already, but I'll just run through it quickly in case you don't. It's about Will Hunting (Matt Damon), who is a genious, but a poor, low-class one. He works as a caretaker at Harvard during the day, and hangs out with his friends at a Boston bar or gets into fights during his spare time. During a big fight with another gang, Will gets arrested. He is released on bail payed by Harvard professor Gerard Lambo (Stellan Skarsgård), who has discovered Will's incredible mind. Will is released on the one condition that he visits a psychologist regularly. After going through a long line of psychologists, Will finally ends up talking to Lambo's old college friend Sean McGuire (Robin Williams). Yes, I know I said I'd run through it quickly, sorry... Well, Will has had a difficult childhood and now tries to shut up his feelings, and well find out the rest for yourself. I really recommend this movie!

DEVIL'S OWN

Frankie (Brad Pitt) is an Irish IRA terrorist who is being chased by police the world over for killing I don't know how many people. He goes to the USA under disguise, to buy weapons for the IRA. He goes under the name of Rory Devaney and stays with cop Tom O'Meara (Harrison Ford) and his family, telling them he works at a construction site. Frankie becomes friends with Tom and his family, which, of course, leads to trouble...
This movie is preeeeeetty violent, with too much shooting and killing at least for me. It's also sad and romantic, and the actors are good. And of course there's Brad Pitt, who really looks ace, and is a good reason for watching The Devil's Own :)! If you haven't already seen it, I suggest you do, it's really worth seeing.

MEN IN BLACK

I'm not much for science fiction and aliens and all that, but I thought this movie was great. It's really funny, and has good actors, especially Will Smith who is great! The main story is about the men in black, who fight "extra terrestrial activity" and "dress in black". According to the movie, refugee aliens are all over the world, disguised as humans without doing any harm. But then there are the evil aliens, out to take over Earth, and it's up to the Men in Black to stop them...

TITANIC

I've never cried as much over a movie at the cinema as I did over Titanic. You know how when you go to the movies you try not to cry over something you might have cried over if you were alone (well, I do anyway)? Well, in Titanic I just couldn't stop the tears from flowing, it's so sad! The story is about Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio), a poor artist, who wins his ticket to Titanic in a pokergame, about ten minutes before the ship leaves, and Rose (Kate Winslet), a high class girl, who is engaged to a millionare. They fall in love, of course, and then comes the big crash. I suppose the plot isn't really anything new, but I didn't think it felt clicheed*, although that's what I've read in some reviews. And of course, for us girls, there is Leonardo DiCaprio, who looks totally perfect! I recommend you to go see this movie, but remember to bring a hankerchief!
*Editor's note: At the time of writing, the author of this review (me!) was very much taken by the movie and not quite to her senses. I must add that the story is very much clichéed and not very original, and the script is not very good, so don't go see this movie for its great storyline. If you go see it, do so for the special effects and for Leonardo DiCaprio.
