Get up and get your grandma outta here
Pick up, old Jim is workin' hard this year
Baby, do the things he says to do, do it
Baby, if you're feelin' good
Baby, if you're feelin' nice
You know your man is workin' hard
He's worth a deuce
Honey, don't push your man behind his years
And baby, stop cryin' all your tears
Baby, do the things he says to do, do it
Baby, if you're feelin' good
And baby, if you're feelin' nice
You know your man is workin' hard
He's worth a deuce
Baby, if you're feelin' good
And baby, if you're feelin' nice
You know your man is workin' hard
Yeah
"Whoo, how you doin'? Oh yeah, it looks like we're gonna have ourselves a rock and roll party tonight."
Chorus
Everybody says she's lookin' good
And the lady knows it's understood
Strutter
She wears her satins like a lady
She gets her way just like a child
You take her home and she says, "Maybe, come on baby"
She brings you down and drives you wild, whoo
Repeat Chorus
I know a thing or two about her
I know she'll only make you cry
She'll let you walk the street beside her
But when she want she'll pass you by
Repeat Chorus
Ooh, ooh, ooh, got to choose, who's your baby
Ooh, ooh, ooh, got to choose
Sometimes, ah sometimes, I know you need a change of pace
Oh yeah, but I ain't gonna run no race
Baby, you've got to tell me yes or no
Alright, alright, come on and tell me
Tell me if you're gonna go, come on
Ooh, ooh, ooh, got to choose, who's your baby
Ooh, ooh, ooh, got to choose, who's your baby
Ooh, ooh, ooh, got to choose, who's your baby
Ooh, ooh, ooh, got to choose, got to choose
Who's your baby, who's your baby
Who's your baby, who's your baby
"Ah yeah, alright. I tell you all, I got this feelin' tonight's gonna be one of those hot nights, yeah. We gonna get this place Hotter Than Hell."
She looked good, she looked hotter than hell
All dressed in satins and lace
I looked at her and it was just too clear
I had to get on the case
I said "Lady, oh lady, can I take you home
There's just so much we could do
I'll take you all around the whole wide world
Before the evening is through"
Hot, hot, hotter than hell
You know she's gonna leave you well done
Hot, hot, hotter than hell
Burn you like a midday sun
I asked her why she couldn't make up her mind
She said baby "You don't understand
I'd love to go, but there's something you should know"
She showed me her wedding band
Hot, hot, hotter than hell
You know she's gonna leave you well done
Hot, hot, hotter than hell
Burn you like a midday sun, oh
Hot, hot, hotter than hell
You know she's gonna leave you well done
Hot, hot, hotter than hell
Burn you like a midday sun
She'll adore you and she'll floor you
With her wisdom and her vision
And you'll love it and think of it
Till you lose all intuition, come on
She can move you and improve you
With her love and her devotion
And she'll thrill you and she'll chill you
But you're headed for commotion
And you'll need her, so you'll feed her
With your endless dedication
And the quicker, you'll get sicker
She'll removes your medication
Get the firehouse
'Cause she sets my soul afire
Get the firehouse
And the flames keep gettin' higher
She's like bad weather but it seems so good
You'd never leave her but you know you should
Whoo, ooh, yeah
She's like bad weather but it seems so good
You'd never leave her but you know you should
Fire sirens sound overlapping
Firehouse
'Cause she sets my soul afire
Get the firehouse, whoo, ooh, yeah
Get the firehouse, whoo, ooh, yeah
"Firehouse, whoo, ah, yeah."
But once I got a baby
I, I tried every way
She didn't wanna do it
But she did anyway, yeah, yeah
So baby please don't refuse
You know you got nothin' to lose
You got nothin' to lose
You got, got nothin' to lose, yeah, nothin'
You got, got nothin' to lose, ooh, baby
You got, got nothin' to lose, yeah, feels so good
You got, got nothin' to lose, you really, really got nothin'
You got, got nothin' to lose, oh, feels so fine
You got, got nothin' to lose, ooh, shake your uh
You got
You got, you got, you got nothin' to lose
So now I've got a baby
And we've tried every way
You know she wants to do it
And she does anyway, yeah, yeah
So baby please don't refuse
You know you got nothin' to lose
You got nothin' to lose
You got, got nothin' to lose, yeah, nothin'
You got, got nothin' to lose, ha, ha, ha, yeah
You got, got nothin' to lose, ooh, you're such a sweet thing
You got, got nothin' to lose, oh, ma, ma, ma
You got, got nothin' to lose, ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-yeah
You got, got nothin' to lose, ooh, shake it one time with Pete
You got
You got, you got, you got nothin' to lose
You got, got nothin' to lose
You got, got nothin' to lose, ooh baby
You got, got nothin' to lose, yeah, nothin'
You got, got nothin' to lose, ohh
You got, got nothin' to lose, oh you g-g-got nothin'
You got, got nothin' to lose, ooh, shake it baby
You got, got nothin' to lose, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it, whoo, shake it
You got, got nothin' to lose
Yeah
She's a dancer, a romancer
I'm a Capricorn and she's a Cancer
She saw my picture in a music magazine
When she met me, said she'd get me
She touched the hips and told me that she'd let me
I took her hand, baby this is what I said
I said "Baby, baby, don't you hesitate
'Cause I just can't wait
Lady, won't you take me down on my knees
You can do what you please"
C'mon and love me
I'm a man, I'm no baby
And you're lookin' every inch a lady
You're good lookin' and you're lookin' like you should be good
You we're distant, now you're nearer
I can feel your face inside the mirror
The lights are out and I can feel you, baby, with my hands
So, baby, baby, don't you hesitate
'Cause I just can't wait
Lady, won't you take me down on my knees
You can do what you please
C'mon and love me, c'mon and love me
C'mon and love me, c'mon and love me
Baby, baby, don't you hesitate
'Cause I just can't wait
Lady, won't you take me down on my knees
You can do what you please
C'mon and love me, c'mon and love me, c'mon and love me
Repeats Three Times
Chorus
Parasite lady, parasite eyes
Parasite lady, no need to cry
I didn't wanna have to get away
I told her things I didn't wanna say
I need her and I hope she'll understand
Repeat Chorus Twice
Chorus
I know she's goin' down, goin'
Everybody knows she's so good
Doin' well for others
She doesn't really know
The powers are within' her
As she takes off her clothes
Repeat Chorus
Doin' well for others
She doesn't really know
The powers are within' her
As she takes off her clothes
"Ace Frehley, lead guitar."
And you don't really know, you don't really know
You don't really know, what to do
Ooh, but I'm standin' here not quite away, yeah, yeah
And I'm tryin' baby, tryin' not to stare
'Cause everybody else is here, yes, everybody else is here
Everybody else is here, watchin' you
Ohh
Ooh, 'cause everybody else is here, yes, everybody else is here
Everybody else is here, watchin' us
Well, how could you have waited so long
You must have been a bitch while I was gone
All this time you put up a fear
For a hundread thousand years
Sorry to have taken so long
It must have been a bitch while I was gone
All this time you put up a fear
For a hundread thousand years
And baby, won't you let me
I think I'm goin' out of my head
I'm just about to, ohh yeah, ow
"Alright, I got a question for you, I got a question for everybody over here. I wanna know, how many people over here like to party? Alright. And I got a question for all the wild people over here, aw yeah. I wanna know, how many people over here like to get high? Alright, I got a question for everybody here and I can't forget about you people upstairs either. Aw yeah. I wanna know, how many people here tonight believe in rock and roll? Whoa yeah, well if you believe in rock and roll, like you say you believe in rock and roll, I want to hear everybody here say "Rock and roll". Now come on, I know you can do better than that, so we gonna try it again. I want you all to catch your breath, 'cause here it comes, I said rock and roll. Well we're gettin' there I know. I know if you really wanna do you could bring the roof down, yeah. So lets take this time like you mean it, ready, rock and roll. Come on and clap your hands, 'cause that's what rock and roll is all about. Now if you all believe in rock and roll, well won't you stand up for what you believe in, come on get up, whoo, come on. Do you feel right? Do you feel right? Do you feel right? Do you feel right? Aw yeah, come on, now come on, come on."
Sorry to have taken so long
It must have been a bitch while I was gone
You mind if I sit down for a while, would you babe
Reaquint yourself with my style
"Rock and roll."
Out on the street for a livin'
Pictures only begun
Your day is sorrow and madness
Got you under their thumb
Chorus
Whoo, black diamond
Whoo, black diamond
Darkness will fall on the city
It seems to follow you too, ooh
Although you don't ask for pity
There's nothin' that you can do
Repeat Chorus
Yeah
Out on the streets for a livin'
Pictures only begun, ooh
Your day is sorrow and madness
Got you under my thumb
Whoo, black diamond, yeah, yeah
Whoo, black diamond
"Good night."
I can't wait a day
I don't care what you say
Oh no, you got to pay
Girl you hit rock bottom
And you're there to stay
Sometimes late at night
I want to hold you tight
Oh no, you got to pay
When you hit rock bottom
And you're there to stay
Rock bottom
Ah, you know you oughta treat me good
Rock bottom
Ah, you never treat me like you should
Rock bottom
Ah, you know you oughta treat me good
Rock bottom
Yeah, you never treat me like you should
Hard times got me down
Good times ain't around
Now I got the mind to say
Girl, you hit rock bottom
And you're there to stay
Rock bottom
Ah, you know you oughta treat me good
Rock bottom
Yeah, you never treat me like you should
Repeat Twice
Rock bottom
Rock bottom, ow
"Ah yeah, how do you feel? Alright, I got a little question for all of you. I wanna know how many people here like to take a taste of alchool? Alright, I know, you know it's gettin' so hot outside you always need somethin' to cool you of. There's gotta be some people out there that like to drink Tequila? Alright, I was talkin' to somebody backstage before and they were tellin' me there's a lot of you people there that like to drink Vodka and orange juice, yeah. I tell you somethin', when you're down in the dumps and you need somethin' to bring you up, there's only one drink that's gonna do it the way you want it. What's that? I can't hear you."
Alright, oh yeah, come on
My heater's broke, I'm so tired
I need your fuel to build my fire
The girl next door, her lights are out, yeah
The landlord's gone, I'm down and out
Ooh, it's cold gin time again
You know it'll always win
Cold gin time again
You know it's the only thing
That keeps us together
It's time to leave and get another quart
Around the corner at the liquor store
The cheapest stuff is all I need
To get me back on my feet again
Ooh, it's cold gin time again
You know it'll always win
Cold gin time again
You know it's the only thing
That keeps us together, that keeps us together, ooh yeah
Alright, ooh yeah
Ooh, it's cold gin time again
You know it'll always win
Cold gin time again
You know it's the only thing
That keeps us together, that keeps us together
"Good night."
You show us everything you've got
You keep on dancin' and the room gets hot
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
And you say you wanna go for a spin
The party's just begun, we'll let you in
You drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You keep on shoutin', you keep on shoutin', come on
Chorus
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
I wanna rock and roll all nite and party every day
You keep on sayin' you'll be mine for a while
You're lookin' fancy and I like your style
And you drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
And you show us everything you've got
Baby, baby that's quite a lot
And you drive us wild, we'll drive you crazy
You keep on shoutin', you keep on shoutin', I can't hear you
Repeat Chorus
You keep on shoutin', you people shoutin', what
Repeat Chorus
Baby gets tired, everybody knows
Your mother tells you, baby has to show, yeah, yeah
Let me go
Chorus
'Cause baby's got the feelin'
Baby wants a show
Baby won't you tell me
Baby, rock 'n' roll, yeah, yeah
I never knew I needed a baby like you
I never knew I needed you like I do, yeah, yeah
Let me go
Repeat Chorus
Come on
You try so hard to please, you get me hard you know
Baby, won't you squeeze, let me go, let me go
Let me go
Repeat Chorus
Rock and roll one time
"KISS loves you, rock and roll, oh. Good night."
First Casablanca album to include a bonus, in this case, an 8-page colour booklet of pictures (from 1974 and 1975) of the band in concert. Alive! was one of the first albums ever to be certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It remains today as one of the biggest selling albums of the '70s, with sales of over 9 million copies worldwide and one of the biggest selling live albums of all time. This album could have never seen the light of day, because at that point, Casablanca Records was totally broke and they didn't want to release a double-live album and also didn't want to pay the band for the tapes they've recorded. But by some unknown way they found enough money and release the album. It ended up saving the record company from bankruptcy.
