USA TODAY (OCTOBER 7, 1998; pg. 2D) HILLARY, HITMAKERS FIGHT CHILD ABUSE Hillary Clinton was honored at a Tuesday luncheon by the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse for her work on the issue. She was joined by recording artists including Michael Bolton, Stephen Bishop, Carnie and Wendy Wilson, All 4 One and Tamia. The stars have recorded a CD, Love Shouldn't Hurt, to be released Nov. 17. R&B singer Tamia told USA TODAY the project was especially important for her. ''When I was in grade school, a little boy would come to school with a different bruise every day. I told the teacher. It turned out his father was beating on him,'' said Tamia, 23. Her fiance, Detroit Pistons star Grant Hill, was in the audience. All 4 One's Jamie Jones had a special message for the Clinton- obsessed media: ''If people put the energy from this case into something positive, we could take care of a lot of problems like child abuse.'' --Csar G.
