My dad was 5 years old when he came to the USA with is parents in 1900. They came from Tschermoschnitz Gottschee, Austria which is not part of southern Slovenia. A cousin, Joeseph Umeck was a native of Slovenia and taught cromatic and button box accordion for over 60 years. He is in the "Polka hall of fame." He was National Secretary for the Slovene Society here in the USA for many years. Your opening tune is played by the "German Club" ere in Birmingham,Alabama USA I also received it from a cyber friend in Germany. I wish you good health and God's blessings. Hi! I am of Slovenian heritage, born in Zagreb. Both of my parents were born in Slovenia. Even though I have lived in Canada most of my life, I have not lost the feeling for Slovenian music. I play the accordion and love to play polkas. So far I did get some midi files from Avsenik, but I would love to get more. I have all of the Avsenik sheet music, but it is a lot more fun to play with a band. Are there more midi files available, and how would I get them? Simpaticna stran res. A ves zakaj. Zato ker nekajkrat na leto pogresam slovensko narodno zabavno glasbo. "Ukradel" sem ti jo in jo bom predvajal tudi sinu, ki je star 2 leti in pol, saj je za taksno glasbo prikrajsan.
