COMMENTS: |
Valued at $10-15.
This LP is considered their worst by the Ramones themselves.
This LP is much better than it would seem. Songs like "Do You Remember Rock 'N' Roll Radio?" and "I'm Affected" are pop/punk madness, with a Spectoresque flair. The absolute best track on the record is the brilliant "Danny Says", which starts off quietly and proceeds to explode into a Wall of Sound which seems on the same scale as some classic Spector productions.
"Rock 'N' Roll High School" was from the cult film of the same name in which the Ramones starred. The mix from this LP and that on the soundtrack (Sire #QSR 6070) and single (Sire #SRE 1051) are different in that the latter mix has no crowd sounds and no explosion at the end.
It may be just because I was watching it around midnight, but I could've sworn I saw Phil Spector driving the Ramones' car in the film "Rock 'N' Roll High School"! Does anyone know if this is true or not?
