Calling all Beatles fans!! Has anyone heard they're re-releasing A Hard Day's Night on DVD and VHS and in theatres come January 2001? It's got new scenes along with all the classics. (Ringo really was a fantastic actor wasn't he?) I am of the Scouse persuasion, born 12/12/45 I saw the Beatles at the last gig they did before the first time they went to Hamburg. I also was in the audience at the Cavern in that famous "Cellar full of noise" TV documentary they did. Cilla Black was of absolutely no importance to them, as far as I knew. Jimmy Tarbuck billed himself as "the 5th Beatle" but again, he was/still is of absolutely no importance. I remember the Beatles singing the Bruce Shonell hit "Hey Baby", followed by the "b" side of their new single "ps I love you" and I was flabbergasted - so were the rest of the audience, that such professionalism was possible from such an ordinary band in uch a crap venue. The Cavern was such a venue. It stunk of pine disinfectant, because it stunk of bodies otherwise. The queue outside was an important place to be, because you were seen outside a hip venue. if you were really lucky, you could pull (a bird ) during the lunchtime sessions. Ahh! memories!! Ken
