Just got the "Absolutely Peachy" album recently. A definite new beginning -- a rebirth of sorts -- for the band. The lyrics are more mature and the music has a fuller spectrum than past albums. This one is eclipsed by "Star Spangles, Spokey Jangles" ho ever, lacking in the more "rocky" feel that Jangles had. A definite improvement, however, in production quality -- the tones are more rich (the intonations are still shaky at points). The addition of the background vocals by the Security Raincoats added some delicate harmonies, most notably on Sunrise. The musical connection between Magic Jelly Island and Sunrise is probably the best production on any Billy album to date. However, songs such as "That One Thing" and "You" lack any pulling power and are ull points on the album. Billy Beck is back and is definitely one of the highlights of the album. His soothing voice leaves a smile on your face -- a great return after a two album hiatus.

Once and a while a band will enter the Child-like brain of collective society and will forever leave it's fingerprints upon the blank walls of it's mind. Billy, although only have reached a limited audiece, has already changed, perhaps forever, the face nd the soul of the music we call "ROCK". Maybe in another time, place, and dimensia the music will become known as "ROCK-A-BILLY". But, here on the planet 3rd removed from Solaris (SUN), we call it "LOVE". Being a man of the world, I've learned a great r many things about myself then of others, bu listening to the first Billy album, I discovered the teachings lost by Socrates and shunned by Earnest Angley [sic?]. I marvelled thoughtfully of the Eastren philosophys that I was so unfamilar with. Through the music, I gapped at the great wall of china, more glorious than when I visited it in person with the Duke of Wellington. The pyrimids had just been stacked, and I sat gazing toward the sky with a pleased pharoh. I even witnessed a time not yet come wh n shouts of "BILLY" rein from every mountain, from every city, and SUNSHINE is on the lips of every child. A time of peace, a time of change, a time of living the good life, not yet realized. Someday, I pry we all may hear the blessings of that particul r sunshine band, and may it's rays forever shine into the darkest hearts, turning them soft with light. Amen Billy, Amen.

I came across your tape while visiting some relatives in Elyria. I went to this punk rock concert in Cleveland and I was talking to this guy about the local music scene and he gave me your tape.
Your tape was pretty cool, but I'm mainly into punk and stuff like that. Your stuff was a bit too soft for me, but I could tell you put a lot of hard work into it.
I really liked the solos on Friend Dyslexic My Bob and CB&SWT -- those fuckin' kicked ass!
Have you guys ever considered doing a punk song? I'm really into this group called Renegade Goat Churners -- a punk group out of Green Bay. I think you'd be like them because they sing funny punk songs (kind of like the Ramones if you've ever heard of t em).
Anyway, I seen your lyrics for those old tapes and I'd been interested in getting them. The guy who gave me this one didn't say anything about any previous tapes, but if there's anyway you can get me some, that'd rock.

Come Bach is so much better than Billy and His Sunshine Band!
