There is a lot of violence and abuse in our modern society and disrespect is one of the many causes. People with racists, fascists ideologies are good examples of disrespect in our society. Every person no matter the color of his/her skin, language or religion is equal to another. These ideologies have already led to too many dead. History doesn’t mean a thing if we don’t learn from it ! Just like men and women are equal, neither of them is an object of desire ! ! ! Sex is highly overrated in this day and age, respect is about love and not reducing someone to an object. These people or organization should be boycotted because they endanger any further possibility for creating respect among all that lives and breathes on our, oh so dear and vulnerable earth. Not only in our society but also in our scene, there’s a lot of disrespect between groups or bands. Why is it that some groups hate other ones ? Because of different ideas, life philosophy or is it just that they know so little about each’other’s ideas ?

In our scene there a lot of people, bands and almost organizations, which are always talking about giving respect to others, having respect for another’s ideas and ways of living. These people show indeed a lot of respect for people , but only to the ones who live in the same gang. They are so sure of their righteousness that their force (sometimes with a lot of violence and aggression) their ideas onto people who have another way of living. (Yes, onto other people who have decided for themselves how they want to live their life). They use violence and aggression to change people’s ideas and ways but they don’t see it as violence or aggression, no they rather see it as a way to make people think and to open their eyes, sometimes they use it with the excuse that the other person wouln’t listen to their ideas. Every person is an unique individual with different thoughts and ideas, no two have the exact same way of living or ideas, and this is something we all know. For example why can straight-edgers, punks and metalheads all go to the same show  and all have a good time ? Making problems about drinking or not drinking beers, smoking or not smoking, dancing or not dancing or about attitudes is not the way to create a scene where everyone respects everyone. If everybody is prepared to show some respect and understanding for everyone point of view, it should be possible to create a strong, healthy, scene where unity rules ! ! ! ! It doesn’t matter if you listen to hardcore, death, punk, ska, indus or hiphop or to mince core cause when it all comes together we all stand at the same side, we all stand for the same underground scene ! ! Showing respect to other people isn’t using aggression to convince them of your right but using words and communicate with each other.

Using words not to start a fight but a healthy discussion which can reveal topics you never really thought about. If we all should listen to each other and take an open-minded attitude we all can learn from each other without betraying ourselves. Communication is the key ! ! We should not only give respect to each other as persons but also the belongings of others. No one has any benefit by the fact that there are some groups who thinks it’s cool to destroy things of other people (like walking through the city and destroy carwindows and bicycles) or to start fight and riots at parties just for the fun of it. Please think before you act. Not only should we give respect to humans but to also animals and to nature ! ! There is no excuse for violence against nature !or against animals !

Show some respect and you’ll get respect ! ! ! These line are not written in a way to judge, offend or to blame someone. They are written in the hope that they can start an open-minded discussion rather than starting more fights and disrespect.
