B*U*S*H at PINKPOP 1997

At 20:45 they were supposed to start, but for some reason they
started playing almost 10 minutes later. All of a sudden all
the lights on the big stage went on and BUSH was coming up.
Gavin at front. When we saw him everybody started to scream.
They started with A Tendency To Start Fires. Some people liked
that song so much they started some fires by themselves. They
played really great, so everybody (including me) went totally
nuts. After that they played Greedy Fly, Cold Contagious,
Everything Zen, Little Things, Comedown, Machinehead and
Glycerine. They didn't play it in this sequence! Sorry, I don't
remember the sequence anymore. I only remember the Little Things
was the last song they played. At the beginning of each song
Gavin gave a little explanation of the meaning of the song. As
mentioned before he said "F*cking" quite often. At the beginning
of the Little Things for example:"This song is for people who
hate someone. You shouldn't hate anyone unless you have a f*cking
good reason!" After half an hour Gavin asked "Hoe gaat het?"
("How are you doing?" in Dutch). It was amazing how well he
pronounced it. He probably practiced it quite a lot of times.
Oh I almost forgot to tell how the concert almost was ruined by
a drunk guy. Well, like I said, there was a drunk guy who climbed
in one of the pillars of the stage. Between two of those pillars
was a bar where several lights were attached (about 30 feet above
the ground!)That guy walked on that bar, but his feet slipped away
so he fell. Fortunately he could seize the bar with his hands. He
was hanging there exactly above Gavin. Immediately several guards
climbed to the guy. One seized his hand and helped him to get down.
I'm not sure Gavin noticed anything of this, but I think he did.
Must have been scary. I mean that guy could have fell down and I'm
sure if that would have happened he would have been dead.
Fortunately that didn't happen.
