The River - Bass Tablature
from: Splendor Solis by The Tea Party
transcribed by: Jay Gibbes

tuning EADG low to high

Yahaha! The River! I think this must be the best bass that The Tea Party
has done (up to Transmission). There's Bass all over the place.

Towards the end of this song, Stuart does some soloing; You won't find it
here. I didn't want to figure it out (it's not that easy to hear) and you
would never be able to understand it from a document like this.

Since Stuart gets into the double-digit frets for this song, I have put at
least one '-' between each note. So: --1-2-- is the first fret and then
the second fret and: --12-- is the twelfth fret.

There are times in this song when changing from one piece of music to
another they only play half of piece1 and then go into piece2; I haven't
written any 'half' pieces, so you will have to know the song to know
when to play a half piece and when not to.

A note on fig.4: You can also play fig.4 starting at the 7th fret on the
'A' string; I feel I have more control that way but I think Stuart would
play it as I have written above.

Play it Loud. Jay.

I have a bass tab for "the river". It sounds like it is right.

        ____0________________0______________________1__

                repeat

        the licks:

        ____________ ______0________ ___________
        _________0__2 _3__3____3__2__3 _______0_2_
        _0_1_2_3____ _______________ __0________
        ____________ _______________ ___________

It's not in order but once you play it you will know
   where eveything fits in.
