Richard Oaks was born on 1/10/1976 (Friday) in Perivale, West London, and later lived in Poole, Dorset. Joined Suede by answering an ad in a newspaper and an audition preformed by Suede who searched a replacement for Bernard Butler. Announced as a new member of Suede on 17 Sep. 1994, then he was 17-year old. His First public appearance took place when Suede played on Top Of The Pops later that week. First apperance in a live concert took place in a secret gig at London’s Raw Club on 7 Oct. 1994 .
Interesting Facts and Rumors
Started learning guitar at the age of 14.
Used a Gibson 335 during the DMS tour, which was lated stolen aong with other Suede equipment during the CU tour. Also owns a lipstick-red Fender Jaguar.
Richard sings backing vocals on Strangeloves’s second album.
