Johnny Rotten e suas opiniões

Johnny Rotten Talks About:

The Sex Pistols

We were quite absurd. We loved the idea of debunking things And the end result was musical vaudeville. I could be wrong, untill now I wasn't able to come to grips with it; I just wanted to clear it out of my life forever. Maybe I'm wiser and older and more capable now; it was still too close back then.

Age

Nothing changes, the same problems are there. Age doesn't matter to that; I never bought into that Pete Townshend 'Hope I die before I get old' stuff. Never have. You can be an old fart, that's likely, but that's an attitude.

Nostalgia

Nostalgia is a liar, I don't care about things like that. If people come to see us looking for fond memories re-visited, they are going to be sorely disappointed. It's not about that. We'll do what we'll do, which is perform live, and you'll either like it or you won't. The people who will like it have already made up their minds, and those who haven't, won't.

Image

I always knew people were writing about somebody else when they wrote about me. Rock writers fantasize, make things bigger than they actually are, the audience picks up on it and once that happens, it's out of your control. Then the audience feels that you let them down because you're not the way you were written about

Cult of Sid Vicious

Well, it could be dangerous, but it's so long ago now that it's just plain silly. It's a lot to do with lazy druggies, isn't it Druggy type people will always indulge in that black leather jacket look; it's a dead end. Slow suicide is not pleasant, and it's certainly not romantic
