"Perfect Irony"
I love painting evil cartoons. This was a fun project and I have three more chairs that I want to paint the same way.
"American Tragedy"
The project was to change a famous painting. Grant Wood's "American Gothic" was a perfect one to derange since it already has that eerie feeling.
"The Joker"
This was one that strayed far off the assignment but my art teacher loved it anyway. I made this out of cardboard and a few real pieces off one of my old guitars. Some of the playing cards are real and some are not...
I'm definately gonna continue making more with cardboard.
"Lost and Found"
Like many of my paintings...this started out from my drawings(I usually like the drawings better, though). My nephew was the model... In one half, he is being carried away on Satan's shoulders and in the other he is clentching to life through Christ.
"The Irreverent Reverand"
This is one of Marilyn Manson (can you tell?). It is simply pastel. Pastel is fun to work with...you get all messy.
"George"
Another pastel. This started out just screwing around(like most of my work) but it ended up being something I like. Don't ask where I got the name.
"Mr. Self Destruct"
Another work where I used the image of a famous person, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. I did a painting of this drawing also but I feel this is the better version.
"Innocence"
I was looking at newly developed pictures that my mom took and I saw one of my nephew in a funny looking hat lookin up from the floor at the camera. Well, I used that pic to draw this piece.
"Modern Cruifix"
I think the title tells you what I was trying to portray in this piece. By-the-way, pay no attention to maryjane leaf on his neklace, I like throwing unsuspected things into my work that makes you study it and sometimes question it.
Cyber Drummer
I bring alot of what I do and enjoy in my work...Cartoons, music, and ironic comparisons. Being a drummer, I incorporated that with my love of art.
Any suggestions on a name?
"Metamorphosis - Innocence Lost"
Did you ever stop to think that the ugliest of all evils was one a little, pure and innocent son/daughter. Society has a way of changing things.
