MY HOBBY

Hi...I'm Tom...and I'm a coin collector. I don't make any money from my coins, but I do enjoy collecting them. I have some nice ones, and some semi-rare ones. But...nothing really valuable.

My favorite collection of course is my Lincoln Cent collection. Like most collectors, it was the first one I started on. I've been collecting for 34 years now, and I still need ONE coin. A 1909-s VDB. Will I ever get one? Maybe, but then, I sure don't want to have to spend $400 on a penny.

From there, I ventured into other collections. Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt Dimes, Washington Quarters, Franklin and Kennedy Halves. Then, when those were mostly completed, I ventured into Indian Head Cents, Buffalo Nickels, Mercury Dimes, Standing Liberty Quarters, and Walking Liberty Halves. Then, I became more daring. Shield and Liberty Nickels. Barber Dimes, Quarters, and Halves. I even started a collection of Dollars. First, Eisenhower, then SBA's. Then I went back in time and started a collection of Morgan and Peace SILVER Dollars.

Then came the year 2000. And I decided to forgo the earlier sets and just concentrate on 20th Century sets. The ones I started collecting. Lincoln Cents, Jefferson Nickels, Mercury and Roosevelt Dimes, Standing Liberty and Washington Quarters, Walking Liberty, Franklin, and Kennedy Halves, Eisenhower and SBA Dollars.

These sets are mostly complete, and that makes me happy.

Where will I venture next? Well, I have been collecting error coins. Mostly just Certified ones. I have a nice collection of them, though, like my other coins, nothing really valuable.

I obtain my coins mostly through Internet Auctions. Below are links to my favorites.
