1.Yes! She is a Techno Pop star.
She was born on 17 january 1963 in Portugal, and her real name is "Vanda
du Vasconselos". I'm sure her Latin basis makes her so cheerful.
She grew up in Belgium under the infuluence of Punk movement in the UK.
When she was 16, she released her first album in Europe, with Telex and
Jacno as producers.
Her stage name "Lio" is taken from the heroine of French TV animation
program called "Barbarella".

Her cute looks and voice were surprise to me. Telex played so cool...
Everything is my favorite!!!!
She says, for the sound of her first album, "mixture of Brondie, Kraftwerk &
Motown sound". There's no better word which fits with misuc：-)
Is it only me who feel Japanese female Techno Pop star such as Miharu
Koshi, Tomoko Yauno and Tamao Koike, got some kind of influences from her
"Lio style"：-P

2.Yes! She always have cool choice for album producer.
Telex, Jacno, Alain Chamfort, Etienne Daho, Sparks, Michel Esteban, John Cale,
Gota. All the albums of hers are full of new elements with great producers.
Gota is an good example,for he worked with Lio in 1991, before he got well
known as drummer of Simply Red.
Also, we can't forget mentioning Tony Mansfield(ex.New Musik) was once a
producer of hers!!!

You'll also find, in an album of hers, Serge Gainsbourg for lyrics and Kenji
Suzuki(ex.Bomb the Bass) as guitarist.

In September 1996, she held her first Japan tour.
Especially, in Tokyo, her costume, micro mini skirt without a panty, got audience
into panic!!
