The Cure, Nashville '96
James, Sean, Laura, and I arrived about two hours early at the Starwood Amphitheatre, which at the time was empty and quiet. As we sat on the grass outside the theatre, the first notes of "Prayers for Rain" rang out. The time flew by as we heard Robert sing a couple verses of the song, which completely got us in the mood. It was a perfect night--cool and there was a nice breeze floating through the area. As we ran into the amphitheatre, the soundcheck ended with "The Figurehead," which Robert sang in its entirety. The concert began with "Want" and led into "Club America" and "This is a Lie."
