ROMANTIC STATUS: He's been dating Hope for two years. They met at a club in Orange County, California. "She's cool about the whole band thing. I had another girlfriend who couldn't handle it, and that was when we weren't even famous yet."

CLOTHING STYLE: Collared shirts, surf shirts with stripes and ugly colors.

"I've wanted to be a lead guitarist in a rock band ever since I first got a KISS record for Christmas when I was eight years old. By the time I was twelve I had found a cheap acoustic and my dad encouraged me to play by paying for a weekly lesson at Irvine Music Store in Orange County. I learned to strum James Taylor and Beatles songs. This lasted for about two months. Apparently having a natural inclination for the instrument, I quickly became a proficient player. During my teen-age years, I'd spend a couple of hours every night in my bedroom making up my own solos to Black Sabbath and Judas Priest records. Next, I studied legitimate music theory for five semesters at the renowned Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. It was during this time that I abandoned my taste for 70's arena-rock in favor of the modern sounds of New Wave and Reggae. I joined No Doubt, cut my hair, and forgot all about fast solos and tight pants.
