To make a long story shorter, Misdirektion was formed when 2 bands,
Misdirektion and Terminal Illness, merged during the summer of
'96.
When this happened, the lineup
consisted of Phelan on vocals, me on lead guitar, Churchwell on rhythm
guitar, Brad on bass, and Ryan Z. on drums. Eventually Brad moved to
vocals, Phelan to rhythm guitar, and Churchwell to bass. We both took some
of our better songs from our old bands and used them.
Around February '97,
we decided to record a short ep using my 4-track that I had recently
gotten. We were all new to recording so it took us awhile to figure out
what we were doing. Things went really slow cause we kept on messing up
mixing our songs. This proved to be slighty advantageous because it gave us
more time to get the songs down even better and improve on them.
In the middle of the summer, I started jamming with
Chris cause he'd been jamming with Brad and Ryan Z. We were gonna have him
play rhythm guitar on the song "Spent" because Phelan was in Europe at the
time we were gonna record it.
Phelan came back at the end of July/early
August and I talked to him about whether or not we really needed a second
guitarist. I went away for a week and when I came back Phelan told me that
him and Ryan were leaving the band to start their own oi! (i guess) band.
So we got Chris to play bass for us and we finished the demo.
After our first show on October 25, 1997, we had a few
practices with Brad and there were minor disagreements
and misunderstandings. Brad didn't talk to us for almost a month
and in early December he decided to quit to start another band.
Thus,
leading to our lineup of:
Mark | Guitar, Vocals |
Chris | Bass, Vocals |
Ryan | Drums |
Since Brad's departure, we have pretty much started from scratch again. We don't play most of the songs we had back then with the exceptions of a couple old school classics.
Now, Ryan has quit for some strange reason, and we need a drummer and that's the bottom line...
So to sum it up in a cool little chart thingy it went like this:
