Sitting, thinking, watching bluebirds fly.
Damnest thing--what does it symbolize to me?
State of mind, I got an urge for freedom.
Cast a stone--east, west, north and south.
I'm gonna watch the bluebirds fly.
Always a heartbreak; love, it fails again.
Innocence ain't cheap and sure ain't easy.
Try so hard but I've fell flat on my face again.
Man, I gotta say, the grass ain't so green on this side.
I know what it means to have a true friend.
Living in the past--living in the past is poison in my mind.
Bridge:
Hey mista Bluebird won'tcha
won'tcha send my love?
Give it to someone won'tcha,
won'tcha give it to your son?
Tell him how his little wings they symbolize
that poison in my mind.
Watching the bluebird fly.
It's poison in my mind.
One of us tries and one of us dies again.
That little bluebird's singing all the while.
Tell all the world, beauty runs inside.
I told 'em once, they didn't hear me.
Hey, watch the bluebird fly...
