Daisies is for those people in our lives that we have lost and
aren't quite ready to say good-bye to...
I remember lots of people on that day.
They were all dressed in black and wearing name tags
that say, "Hello my name is..., Hello my name is..."
It seemed impersonal to me, but I guess
that's the way that it goes when you're sane.
I never knew that I'd be in a line alone for you,
all I can do is wish you a world where needs,
they were never heard of...they were never heard of.
Chorus:
And now I stand alone and over your grave and
it's making me crazy --putting daisies on you, yea.
No, no, no, I'll never be the same since I... I put them
daisies on you.
A half a million days have gone by in my mind.
There's so much pain. And it's incredible the way
I lost my etiquette. My God, I'm so in vain. Why don't you reach
down, reach down, reach down, reach down and strike me, reach
down, reach down, reach down.
CHORUS
I'll never find myself in me again,
with you it went away. Well, time's the healer says
Episcopal, the preacher man, but God it's much too soon.
Why don't you reach down, reach down, reach down,
reach down and strike me, reach down, reach down, reach down.
CHORUS
Bewildered minded prayer putting daisies on you, yea.
I'm so lonely, so lonely, I'm so lonely. I see the world
with a different point of view as of lately. Oh.
