PLOT: Various plots, all from comedy and drama programs originally broadcast over radio in the 1940's/1950's.

HISTORY: This show marked not only my fifth "Golden Age" appearance, but my wife Cindy's first (as Crone in "Escape"). For "Easy Aces", I was cast as a distressed psychiatrist with a froggy German accent. I also got an announcer's role in "Escape". The audiences were audibly amused by the unique voices that Cindy and I gave our characters.
Though a "Burns and Allen" segment was planned for this year's show, a suitable Gracie couldn't be found, so "Easy Aces" was chosen to replace it. Also, "Red Ryder" was a last-minute addition to this year's show, which originally included only four segments.
The special guest for this year (initially to have been "Donna Reed Show" regular Paul Petersen, who bowed out due to other commitments) was James Hampton, whose extensive acting credits include TV shows "F-Troop" and "The Doris Day Show", and movies "The Longest Yard", "Teen Wolf", and "Sling Blade". James got to play both of the 2008 show's action heroes: Red Ryder and Green Hornet.
Segments from the show were later broadcast, as part of Gary's 6-8pm radio show, on 1350 AM in Corning, and 1230 AM in Elmira. "Red Ryder," "Halls of Ivy," and "Escape" were played on June 22, with "Easy Aces" and "The Green Hornet" on June 29th.
