Hello and welcome to my web-site. I hope you will find it a nice place to stop by for its info and links on the Beatles and the Monkees, as well as its poetry and other writings of mine that you may find interesting--even if you don't know me at all.
But in response to concerns that may be brought up by this page, I guess I should make some things clear....
As you may know, an internet page that a person creates about himself or herself is called an "ego-page". So, for many years, I used to call this site "Rebuilding My Ego". Those who could not grasp the tongue-in-cheek meaning of that title should probably not view the rest of this site.
And while this site is accessible to just about anyone surfing the worldwide web, I do not recommend it to everyone.
I'm not suggesting that this site is bad, mind you. Most of it (including the Beatles and Monkees sections) is information, making it a mainly inoffensive site.
I have also ensured that none of my stuff is pornographic, and that none of my links lead to porn sites. Any connections between this page and any "adult" ones are not intentional, and are avoided to the best of my abilities.
I have also kept cursing down to a bare minimum, removing particular letters from the most inoffensive words (i.e. "f_ck" or "sh_t").
I've kept everything as tasteful as possible, and have kept out any graphics that may be found in bad taste.
Nonetheless, I do not recommend this site to anyone under 16-18 years old. This is partially because of content, but mainly because there is really nothing here for kids to enjoy, and much of the material will go over their heads.
As for the rest of you, I'm sure that certain sections of this page will appeal to you more than others, depending on your tastes in music, poetry, or humor. I can't please everybody, and those that find anything too questionable should keep that in mind.
Another thing to keep in mind is my "Links that Don't Stink" page. Some of these links may deal with people or things that are unappealing to some people (not all of us can like "Monty Python" or "South Park"), but they can be enjoyed by general audiences over 16-18. Some of these links do use a bit of comedic profanity and/or cartoon violence, but are harmless if seen by the right people.
And if worse comes to worse, any links found too offensive by certain people will be deleted from my links page.
As for material on my own page, let me speak about graphics. Since I haven't always had a high-tech computer of my own, I originally had to put this site together at college computer labs or coffee shops that charge $5 an hour for use of their equipment. Since I had no direct access to a scanner, I had to pull graphics and wallpaper off of various other pages too numerous to mention here. Be aware, though, that sites from which I pull a large amount of graphics will be listed on at least one of my links pages.
Furthermore, any graphics or material used on this site that may constitute a financially-damaging copyright infringement can be compromised or removed if requested by the original copyright holders.
And in relation to any personal statements that I make on this page about any kind of person or thing, please note that they are mostly opinions by me. They do not express the opinions of Geocities or whoever else. If certain comments of mine seem too offensive, I am open to suggestions on how to rephrase them.
In all above cases, please e-mail me--not someone else--with any concerns you may have. I do my best.
One more note on material: My parents once believed that elements of this site give off the impression that I am gay. I, meanwhile, believed that similar elements would give off the impression that I am anti-gay. For the record, I am a heterosexual. And when it comes to people, I care about who they are, not what they are.
With that said, enjoy the page, keeping in mind that that's all it is: a page. A little info, a little fun, and no real harm done. If you don't like it, don't look at it. And if you like it, then you're welcome to it. Enjoy. :-)
