I love your website. It's so beautiful and creative, but also heart warming and brutal. I know how you feel about Tori. I have not been raped (not physically), but she has helped me also in the tough times of my life. Whenever I am forced to describe the
ffect she gives me I say its like a mother's hug. I feel free and calm enough to open my heart up, take off my emotion-proof shell and come to grips with my feelings. Even if it means I sob like hell, its still comfort enough to *allow* me to show my real
feelings.
I'm 16 years old. I discovered Tori at the same age as you were raped (12). When you discovered Tori (13, I believe), I was going through my own troubles with depression and suicide.
I've been through a lot in my short life, as you have also. I don't like to go into detail, mainly because I don't want to bring sorrow to other people or pity for myself, but it was all bad enough for me to spend the last three years of my life healing f
om.
I never have been raped, but sometimes I have felt/feel that I have been (emotionally) raped. I was stalked when I was 13 (that's just part of what happened that year) and, even though I blocked out the reality of the situation then, it soon caught up wit
me six months later. The guy took away my all sense of security, all my sense of protectiviness, and I am just now beginning to heal. Since this kid went to school with me, there were days when I would have to walk behind him in the halls and I would com
into class shaking and crying. Sometimes a mistake would be made and he would be put in one of my classes. I would then run out of the room, to the counselor's office and demand he be taken out before I broke down. Then, of course, there were the idiots
ho knew of some past with the guy, but did not understand the seriousness of it, and all their taunts and questions would have me sobbing in moments. To this day I hate his name. It tastes sour on my tongue.
But now I feel better. I think things are getting better. The nightmares are finally few and far apart, and, though I still get upset, I don't start sobbing and crying when another classmate mentions my past. The guy was even kicked out of school last yea
(hurray!) and hasn't returned yet. Still, I have to make an effort to deal.
I'm sorry for blabbering so... and I have so much else I want to tell you. Oh, damnit! Once I open up it's so hard for me to stop! :o) I just want you to know, I have complete faith that you will overcome your self-pity, sorrow, and memories, and become a
loving person once again. (not that you aren't loving now--you created this web page and keep it running to help other victims)
