Hi all,
Welcome to another issue. The big gold star AND elephant stamp goes to John Jennings for finding a possible way to contact Siobhan. See the details near the end of this issue, and feel free to send any messages for Siobhan to the Siobhan ONElist (siobhan@onelist.com), or to John (john@jengs.force9.net).
Good luck to us!
Cheers,

I didn't see this. I'm sorry to hear it as it would suggest her demons are
still in full swing. I feel so bad for her. :(
But I assume then that Siobhan is doing that tour with Bananarama, Culture

Hi Mary,

Unfortunately that most probably ISN'T the case. Siobhan did not appear
with Sarah & Keren during a recent-ish Banana tour of Singapore, and the
word is that Siobhan is not involved with the upcoming Banana album. Her
appearance with them for "Waterloo" was just a one off thing.

Well, Marcy must have been way into doing ET ripoffs in the 80's,
because she can also be heard on a song during the end credits of
"Short Circuit", about a robot that becomes a sentient creature. The
song is called "Come and Follow Me" or something like that. She was
credited as Marcy Levy on that too. What a coincedence!!

Is this an actual video compilation like Hormonally Yours? Is there
any way to get a copy?? I have always really wanted to see those vids
and never have. Anybody??
Love,
Melanie

I can't find any confirmation of a release of the soundtrack (though
surely there must have been...), but most of the song appears over the
end credits. Mike.]

Siobhan's ex-husband, Dave Stewart has reunited with Annie Lennox to release
a new album as the Eurithmics, entitled "Peace". The "Peace" World Tour will
hit Australia in September.
Hopefully some inquisitive journalist might be able to sneak in a question
about Siobhan!!!

Subject: [siobhan] Sacred Heart, the video
Hi all!
Haven't posted anything for a long long time...
For those of you interested in getting the Sacred Heart video, you can
buy it online at the following website:
http://www.energy-music.com
Last time I checked, they still had two or three copies left (this is
where I got my own copy of the video). But I also know that they
recently advertised this video on e-bay, so you'd better hurry! I don't
know of any other web sites that sell Sacred Heart.
Hope this will help.
Christophe
PS: Almost forgot, search under BANANARAMA as all Shakespears Sister's
items are listed with bananarama's.

Hi all,
As you may recall, Eddie and Grant attended Marcy's show at the Kashmir
Klub in London on the 6th of July, and they took some photos of the show,
which they kindly offered for my Marcella picture site. These photos are
now ready for your viewing pleasure:
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Pavilion/3545/marcypics/marcyj.html
I hate to draw attention to this site, which badly needs an update (I've
got some more early Marcy Levy pictures ready to add), but if you go to
that address, you can see the Kashmir pictures right now.
Cheers,
Mike.

Hey all!!
....
As for the WHO'S THAT GIRL appearance, from what I've read, Siobhan detested
Dave Stewart at that meeting, and it wasn't until later that they hit it off
and started dating. Karen and Sarah thought he was terribly unattractive,
nicknaming him "Rolf". Bratty girls.

From: xuxa@nh.ultranet.com (Jeffrey Perron)
This is in response to the email about Shuv meeting Dave Stewart on the
set of the Who's That Girl video.
Siobhan didn't start dating Dave until way after the Who's that Girl
video. In between, she dated a guy named Bill. He was tall with a
shaved head and appeared in the More Than Physical video. Incidently,
Bill was Keren's Boyfriend, Dave Evans's, best friend. Dave Evans was
also in MTP. Then while dating Bill, Siobhan ran into Dave Stewart at a
party. Dave Stewart said when he saw her, he remember her from the
video shoot as a "nice Irish girl" not long after that she was pregnant
and Dave and Shuvie were getting married. Needless to say, Keren & Dave
were upset for their friend Bill, and hence, that led up to Shuv leaving
the band.

You mean the album was actually reviewed?
*aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh* i've got to get that magazine,
i've got to get that magazine! I'll go out and get 'Elle' magazine ASAP (if
I can handle the embarrassment!) and see if I can get back issues. Have you
got this magazine Grant, and if so, could you maybe print it on the mailing
list?
In case you haven't noticed, i've got more and more hyped up about Siobhan
releasing the third album, and i figured the only way I/we could get her to
do so was for us to contact her and tell her how much we love it! Problem
is, no-one knows where she is, she's totally disappeared... Even influential
MTV can't find her - so we've got no chance. This is why the ss.com project
is on hold, i think we should really get the go ahead from Siobhan first. I
have e-mailed BMI in the hope that they might be able to help us but have
had no reply so far.
Oh well, keep smiling,
John.

Subject: [siobhan] The Elle review
Hi guys,
Elle September 1996:
Insight Music Reviews
Shakespears Sister
Shakespears Sister(LONDON)
Siobhan Fahey is one of Britian's most successful
female pop stars. But chances are that you wouldn't
recognise her in the street. It's over 10 years since
Fahey left Bananarama and a good four years since Stay
languished in the charts for 8 weeks. Now she's back,
this time without Marcella Detroit. Gone too are the
ballads and in their place a fiesty collection of
songs (Opportunity Knockers, for one) which look back
unashamedly to T Rex and Roxy Music (Can You Wait That
Long?).
The first single, I CAN DRIVE, is a sharp reminder
that she can write no-nonsense pop songs - Fahey might
find herself being stopped in the streets very soon.
Picture Caption:
Siobhan Fahey, haven't we seen her somewhere before?
-------
The Arena article from July/August (that is on an old
SSML) had an even more extensive review of the third
album, including a song not found on the 5 sampler,
'What's it Like To Be So Wonderful'.
The interesting thing about the Elle review is that
it is dated rather late, i.e September. I was in
London in August 96 and went to Virgin MegaStore who
told me there was a release date for the self-titled
Shakespears Sister album in late September 1999. So
the review was made just prior to London or Siobhan
shelving it. That makes me think that most likely
there were some completed promos or actual albums of
the third album sent out for promotion. God knows
where they are now though, probably lying in a box at
some UK magazine headquarters.
The Elle review was really positive to the new
Shuv material, as was the Arena article. I'm baffled
to this day why the album was never released. It could
have been huge. Its surely to go down for me as one of
the wonders of the world.
Siobhan did hand out the 5 track sampler to people
just prior to I Can Drive and then the 10 track just
after she had re-recorded some tracks, so if we do
ever manage to track her down there is always the
chance that we might at least get a copy of the entire
completed third album. I would love to hear 'What Its
Like.....'

Hi guys,
You know I really don't think Siobhan has totally
disapeared.
She's been working in the last year. She did
record that track last year with Sophie Muller on the
Passion CD, and she mentioned a top secret project on
TFI. (Didn't Carrie Booth tell someone that a few
tracks were recorded under the name MGA- My Giddy
Aunt?)
She's most likely preparing herself for
the ultimate come back and is probably in recovering
from some more major plastic surgery. (She mentioned
in the TFI she had some in 94- maybe the cigs and
booze took its toll) She wouldn't make a come back
without being totally gorgeous. The woman is a
perfectionist after all.
I wouldn't be surprised if Shuv makes such a huge
come back that it'll make Cher look like a geriatric
pensioner in a bad wig.
Maybe wishful thinking though

Siobhan. I recently sent a fax to PRS asking if they knew where we could
contact Siobhan, and this is the reply!
[Note: PRS is a company that distributes royalties to songwriters, so hopefully Siobhan

Post letters to [this mailing list] and i'll send them all together as a

release the third album....

Yeah, I also remember Marci saying (in the story of Shakespear) that
Siobhan wasn't confident about her singing during the early days of Sister..
Grant;
<< I wouldn't be surprised if Shuv makes such a huge come back that it'll

It's not a wig though I think a small furry animal is hibernating
on top of Cher Babe's head :) Talking of hair.. don't you think it's a pity
that Shuv cropped off and coloured her trademark Witchlike hair?? And.. has
she lost her eye liner too??
Melanie;

Perhaps Shuv moved to the States and changed her name to Marcella

According to an NME review if Shakespears Sister's performance at T in
the Park in summer 1996, the song, "What's It Like To Be So Wonderful"
is piano heavy, with a good bass sound. The review for the whole
performance is not very positive, but there was mention of this song.
Hope this helps.
