Hi all,
Wondering if anyone might be able to burn me a copy of the third album. I
would make it up to you of course...Email me and maybe we can work out some
sort of trade. I have over a hundred Bananarama / SS items that I'd be
willing to sacrifice.
Thanks

Subject: [siobhan] Hormonally Yours Re-issue
Hi everyone,
I've just bought the new Warner issue of Hormonally Yours. The sleeve
etc are exactly the same as previous issues and the only slight
difference is the addition of a circular sticker on the
front 'includes the UK no. 1 'STAY''.
The new catalogue number is: 3984-28239-2. On the back inlay sleeve
it mentions that it was previously available as 828-375-2.
I've also bought a Bananarama's 'A bunch of Hits' - great picture
sleeve!
Cheers,
Dean.
[Thanks for that Dean. The day after your message, I noticed the album has been re-released by
Warners here in Australia as well. It has the same circular sticker. Groan, I guess this means I have to
buy yet another copy of HY :-) Mike]

Subject: [siobhan] Shocking E-Bay News!!!
I was just on e-bay and was disgusted to see that some
people are selling copies of the Third album,
presumable for their own profit.
The Two people concerned are using the I.D's of
"Djgrrll" (who is also selling two other b-side CDR's
and selling the album for $30!) and someone calling
themsleves "Johndl4". I KNOW people want the Album
desperately BUT this is not the way it should be
done...It is not fair on the person who forks out $30
dollars for an album that would never have cost that
much. WHO do these people think they are? Selling
something that is not theirs to sell?
Does anyone have any thought on this behaiviour, or
would those responsible like to anwser to why such
steep prices on a very public market?

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!
I can't believe there are still people out there trying to do this... I know
who the sellers are and I'll be keeping a close eye on them... As long as
the final bid doesn't massively exeed the costs to copy the cd I suppose
there isn't really a problem, besides its out of our hands - but I feel
sorry for the desperate person who is paying $30 (about £20.17 according to
ebay uk).
Oh, and hi everyone, sorry i haven't been posting for a little while, I've
been veeery busy recently. For those of you who haven't seen it... I have
updated my SS pages yet again - www.ilonline.co.uk/artists/siobhan.
Also, for whoever was asking about it... you still can send handwritten
letters to Shuv through me if you really want to - although they may take a
little while to get to her - i'm horribly slow! You can of course still use
the form from my website for slightly quicker contact!
I hope you are all well,
Regards

Hi guys;
I hesitate to post this... I personally spaz out when I hear about Ebay items on a newsgroup because that's automatically more bidders to bid against (LOL) but it's so striking I had to share it. Does anyone else know of a song called Damien Save Me, that Shuv (I like that name!! It's cute) did with Dave Stewart? There's a copy of the third album that has it on the end as a bonus track on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=333498046 also by the aforementioned djgrrrl or whoever she is.
While I love Ebay for having singles and stuff, I don't think they should be selling the third album for anything over the ordinary price, that's just wrong. I hesitate to say that to in light of the crap Metallica is pulling on it's fans....but Shuv does kinda need the money more. :)
Also, this is my new address, if anyone was curious. Hope that unsubscribe worked! :)
Love,
M

there were any pics in there of her. i want to buy back issue(s) that

This song (actually lyrics) are actually from Dave Stewart's first solo
album, the great "Greetings From the Gutter." Siobhan did a fair amount of
background work on it although the best duet is Dave with Laurie Anderson.

I've heard this track and it does possibly sound like Siobhan's voice
in the chorus (though it has that sound of several voices together).
Dave sings a line "Damien Save Me" and this is followed by the
backing singers repeating the line. Compared to all the other tracks
on the album it does sound like more Siobhan than any others. However
it's not as obvious as say 'Walk Into The Wind'.
Hope this makes sense,
Dean.

I don't find it too wicked that those ebay users are offering the
bootleg cd' for sale. It's the bidder's choice if they want to pay that
much. They sure can't buy it in a store anywhere, and what if they don't

Learn to write one.
OTOH, regarding Metallica and Napster, there's a very easy way to keep
people from infringing on your "art", it's called don't make any. You
can't put something out there in the world where people are going to be
affected by it and then freak out because they do. If my taping your song
off the radio because I can't afford 20 flippin' bucks for a CD every week
offends you, maybe you're too geeky to be making rock n' roll anyway. :)

Hi all, I saw some recent posts on people selling the 3rd album on eBay, does
anyone know if these are the actual 3rd album or are they bootleg copies of
the 3rd album? If they are bootleg copies then the sellers are guilty of
illegal copyright infringement and eBay has very strict rules about that now.
If anyone is really upset by this and is a member of eBay they should report
the sellers to "Safe Harbor" and have eBay check them out. What these people
are doing is piracy and it is wrong. And by the way, for the person who
earlier said that Metallica was pulling something on its fans by suing
Napster, what Napster is doing is piracy as well. Metallica and the other
artists receive no royalties for the music that is being uploaded or
downloaded and if people can get their music for free then they are most
likely not going to buy the artist's albums and the artist loses money. Just
because Metallica have had more success than our dear Shuv does not mean they
should be allowed to be screwed.

Subject: [siobhan] Ebay Problems (ug not this again)
Hi,
This email is to the person who emailed me about the auction (you know
who you are!) and everyone else interested in the recent Ebay/Third
Album thing.
I totally disagree with everyone who think the sale of the bootleg album
is ok, because it isn't. Heres the officially unofficial reason why...
Normally the sale of CDs via ebay is fine by me, and most people,
including Siobhan.
At the moment though, a friend of mine is trying to convince Warner Bros
to sell the rights to the album to us, so the general release of the
album can go ahead - as we all want it to. We want to stay on the best
side of Warner so as to do this, and if they discover that unofficial
and illegal copies have been circulating, they will probably be a lot
less likely to 'give in'. My friend is putting a lot of work in, and i
don't want to see all that work (and money!) wasted.
One persons argument was that it was the bidders choice how much they
bidded for. This is not true, people seem unaware that fans are
desperate to hear music by Siobhan. If the fans are unaware that the
album will soon be released, they think this is the only way they will
be able to get their hands on a copy. For this reason the bids were
reaching a phenomenally large amount, making some people very rich,
which made the true fans of shuv angry because none of this money is
going to Siobhan - who rightfully the album belongs to.
Whilst I have nothing against officially released cds being resold on
Ebay, as these were once paid for in a normal record shop, (i.e. money
to siobhan!) people, including myself, do tend to be against the sale of
the third album as Shuv has not received one penny for it so far. This
is why i feel that cds being sold for a price that only covers the cost
is ok because the seller is getting no more money than Siobhan is, but
fans get to hear the music they want to.
As soon as the album has been released, i am sure many copies will
appear on ebay, but as long as shuv receives what is due to her, I am
happy!
Hope thats cleared everything up...
Warm Regards,
John.

Subject: [siobhan] "Shocking" Ebay News
With all the commotion about the selling of the Missing album on EBAY I felt
as the seller I should make a few comments:
1) I only auctioned 1 copy of the cd and the starting price was
significantly lower than the end auction price. To be honest my motives were
partly financial, but if I was the Siobhan parasite that you make me out to
be, I could've been selling heaps of copies of this item before now.
2) The EBAY bidders set the final price. If someone was willing to pay that
much for the item, that is their choice.
3) I was unaware of EBAY's policy on Bootlegs. Once I saw how high the price
had got, I ended the auction early, and I actually negotiated a lower price
with the winner.
4) Its very easy to take the high moral ground when you obviously already
have a copy of this album. Strictly speaking, its not released so nobody
should have a copy. But I BET all the people who complained have a polished
copy of this cd and the live bootleg in their collections. If I was
auctioning say a rare unreleased remix of "Do I scare You" the very people
who complained would probably be falling all over themselves to put in a
bid.
5) This mailing list regularly contains emails from people wishing to obtain
or copy rare SS stuff for other people. LIAM included. Is anyone complaining
about that??
6) Who are you people anyway? Siobhans gobal sniffers locating things going
on in the world that Siobhan wouldnt like? Why don't you target London
Records if you want really whine about someone ripping off Shuv. Mind your
own business you bunch of tossers

Hey you lot !
I saw Dave's 'Greetings from the Gutter' documentary last night and was rather disappointed not to find any bloody mention of Siobhan / the children in it. In point of fact, the show not only covered his professional life but it rather focused on his private one-it featured interviews with his brother, parents and even his shrink!-as he looked back on his younger years. If I'm not wrong they were still a couple by 1994 and she may still have been at the height of her worldwide popularity just two years after HY had come out. Perhaps some listees may account for her absence-that is whether she was busy touring, recording, etc. or simply decided to stay out.
Having said that, it was fun to spot Kevin Spacey as Isabella Rossellini's husband in the 'Jealousy' video hehe!

With regard to Eva's comments - according to this interview, they

As I remember they were not a couple until mid to late 1986. But, it is a
moot point now.
Please excuse me. I misread this post. From what I have heard the marriage
got rocky about 92 with many on again, off again until the final demise in 96.
