I was wondering if anyone in the universe has as keen of an eye as me. On
MTV, they have this show called BioRhythm. It features different famous
people, and tells their story through music and clips of random stuff.
By golly, do you know what it had?!? Okay--must contain excitement...It was
an episode about Eminem (I'm biting my tongue), and the scene was about when
his mom went wacko. But then, all of a sudden, they showed a clip of
SIOBHAN, as she appeared waving goodbye in the STAY video.
Dear God!!! This means that MTV hasn't forgotten about Shakespear's Sister,
as I had previously thought! At least some person who put together this
show knows of the glory!

Until next time, I'll contain myself.
Affectionately,

Davie the Fanatic

[Right, so basically when MTV wanted to illustrate a woman going wacko, their
first thought was of Siobhan. Charming! Well, at least she made an impression......Mike]

Hey, Does anyone know much about One World One Voice - A
CD that DaveStewart and SS collaboreted on in 1992? It credits
them only for track 9 but I could swear it's Siobhan's voice
reading poetry on track 12. Any thoughts or insight would be
greatly appreciated!

Hi Jeffreak!

I had the CD at one time. Not much really you're missing IMO.
Mostly S + M singing ethereal backing vocals on this musical
chain letter. The Video companion had the two girls in it too
but again, nothing too amazing really.

Again, just my thought on it.

Take care

the female voice on track 12 sounds like it's got a European accent to me
(Dutch I guess, or a bit German), and I don't think it's Siobhan.
Something that's often overlooked though is that Marcy (and Siobhan) are
clearly on track 8 (which, like all the tracks on the album, frustratingly
isn't titled or properly credited!), with their "yeah-yeah yeah-yeah"s,
seguing into the Dave/SS track "One World One Voice". You can seem them
singing it in the video clip.

Subject: [siobhan] starting to build a website

Hi everyone,

Just a short note letting you know I have started working on a
Shakespears section of my website. By no means is it near completion,
but as a Shakespear's Sister Fan myself I am always looking for
Shakespear's Sister stuff. I have been having problems with some of
the pages, that I haven't worked out yet, and I have only been
concentrating on the lyrics from Sacred Heart, Hormonally Yours and
some of the B Sides.

I'm also hoping that someone will let me know where I can get some of
Shakespear's Sister's new stuff, like I can Drive and Singles Party.
I have only ever heard about 20 seconds of the songs on someone's web
sites ages ago.

My link to the Main Menu is:-
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Villa/9595/johnny_boy/johnny_boy.
html

I have sort of stopped any more work on any of my topics because I
have run out of space with geocities and I am looking around for a
web host which has unlimited space. I want to scan in all my
shakespear's sister, and other things and get them on there as well.
But without the available space I can't do it, but when I find
something I'll start work again.

Well that's about it. Many thanks

john

P.S. Has there been any word about if Siobhan's third album will be
released?

I noticed the suggestion to make numerous attempts, should the first have
failed, to send Siobhan messages at John Jennings' iLonline site. I don't
understand. How are we to know that our messages may have failed to be
delivered? Has Siobhan responded to any of these? I highly doubt it, but
don't think I'm faithless. Marcy responded personally to several of my
messages, but I always hold Siobhan up as a "pop star." It seems like she
wouldn't have the time to respond to our messages. Boy, will I feel silly if
she's responded to some of your messages. Despite my best efforts, maybe
mine wasn't very eloquent!

Subject: [marcella] Billie Myers

Does anyone else remembering Marcy saying months ago that she did some work with Billie Myers? I got Billie's CD today hoping to find Marcy as a coauthor or performer on some tracks. I need something to tide me over until a new Marcy album is released. Well the Billie Myers CD is very good, but alas, there's no mention of Marcy whatsoever in any of the credits or acknowledgments. I inquired to Marcy about this personally, but she's so busy with her new studio she might not get back to me anytime soon. So if anyone has any information in the meantime, let me know. What happened to the material Marcy and Billie did together?

Also, has anyone heard of an artist named Panangel. All I know is that she's a Californian, and she an up & comer. I was reading some little blurb about her on the internet the other day, and she lists Marcy as an influence.

Does anyone remember Marcy's birthday? I know it's coming up or just passed recently. What am I saying, of course Mike or John must know!

I have found the limited-edition UK "I Can Drive" 45 RPM with red-colored
vinyl and picture sleeve at www.fasthits.com for only $4.75!!! Considering
the fact that this usually sells for $15 at eBay, I thought I'd pass on this
little secret. I'm sure all you ardent fans probably have this already, but
I was certainly enthralled when I happened upon the listing. I should note,
however, that it does not include "Suddenly" but "Oh No It's Michael." The
CD single featured both songs. By the way, why won't either of these B-sides
be featured on the final cut of the third album? I thought "Suddenly" was to
be included, but "Oh No It's Michael" would not, or was it the other way
around? I think "Suddenly" is much better, personally, but, perhaps you
don't share my opinion?

Subject: [siobhan] A request

sigh...ok, here goes...

I want a banner. I know lots of places to get nice banners, unfortunately
they're all Buffy sites and they don't do Shakespears Sister banners (I
doubt many of them know who SS are.) I have some groovy banners for my
other sites and want one for my Sister site as well. I would do it myself
but I'm in the middle of a copy of HTML for Dummies right now....

So if anyone's graphic handy and has nothin else to do, here's what I'm
thinking:
Simple: a dark background, blue/purple lettering, Shuv and Marcy's faces in
some juxtapose, (preferably HY era but whatever) and the name of the site,
Obsessively Yours A Tribute to Shakespears Sister, with planets or somethin
thrown in the background if you can find it but don't feel bad if you can't.

That's the simple banner. But imagine if I was a computer graphics
genius...what I would do....
An alternating text banner, first reading "Do you love Shuv?" next to
Siobhan's face. Next "Mad about Marce?" next to Marcy's face. Third, "Into
S and M?" between the girl's faces. Then the last frame, "Find 'em at
Obsessively Yours" with kind of the star theme I described above. No less
than FOUR alternating frames. Is that even possible on a banner??

Ah well, I can dream, can't I? If anyone can throw their faces on a
rectangle I'll be satisfied. :)
Love, Melanie

Hi all. What do you think of this collection? I won a copy at eBay and I was
very impressed with the sound quality. By the way, Neil's site refers to
this as a "bootleg." John, have I cheated Siobhan out of any money by
purchasing this CD?

Also, I should note that there is a listing for this CD at eBay that is NOT
the official recording, but a CDR. He even lifted the artwork off of one of
your sites. I'm not sure which, though. His photo of the CD reads, "Goodbye
Cruel World" and he claims stores in New York City are running these off
like the daily paper. Is THIS hurting her income as well? My official copy
was released by Italian label Kiss The Stone.

Subject: [siobhan/marcella] Hey People

Hey everyone, sorry I'm sending this to both groups *yet again*, I'm in
the middle of an essay about the social importance of Mandirs to British
Hindus, and a (minor) update to my website among other things.... which
maybe explains my brain's garbled state at the moment, and yes i do
think Marcy should become more independent of her past with SS, and i'm
totally going against what I think by posting to both the m&s (hmm...
that makes people laugh whichever way around i write it) lists, but
people, i'm veeeeery tired....

Aaaaanyway, today, as we should all know, is Marcy's birthday, but does
anyone know how old she actually is? I was under the impression that she
was born in 1957, making her 43 by my reckoning. The birthdays section
of my local paper said she was 46, though.... not that they have any
idea... they always get Shuv's age wrong... hmm....

Anyway, quickly looking over some of the messages recently.... i'm
planning on doing a quick summary with my view etc....
--> 'French & Saunders' parody sketches - I actually think this is
hilarious and i think its a shame that Shuv couldn't laugh at herself...
i mean lets face it, none of the Hormonally Yours videos were meant to
be taken seriously!! I think she was a bit emotionally unstable at the
time which is why she made the comments that she did. F&S have done
sketches of all the big musicians... and none of them seem to have much
against it...
--> Marcy --> Is it just me, or is the closer video no longer available
from VirtueTV? I have a link to it on my site, and I would take it off,
but there is still a link to the video on the VirtueTV website...
hmm.....
--> The form to email shuv --> I say keep trying, i mean if you get a
message saying 'page not found' try sending it again.... but don't send
the same message more than one otherwise (i.e. if you DO see the
'thanks' page) because shuv will end up getting the same message
twice... or more......
--> SS Bootlegs --> I'm fine with this.... I don't think you're really
cheating Shuv out of anything... as the recording isn't owned by anyone
as such.... I'm surprised they're running off copies in NYC though...
hmm.....
--> The 3rd SS album --> The Majors at Warner are waiting to see what
happens with the RIAA and Napster and MP3.com. Apparently, Warner is
stalling because they are waiting to see what the other labels will do
in terms of Internet distribution and licensing, as this album will be
mostly internet distributed in the US... (whilst in the UK i am looking
at a wider distribution, HMV, Virgin Megastores, OurPrice, WHSmith etc)

That about covers it....
Now back to my essay....
Damn....

John.

By the way, I know for a fact Marcy saw the take off her and shuv by F&S and
almost wet herself laughing. It is an excellent rip-off of the stay video,
definitely one of the best F & S have done since tanita tikaram or sonia.
