SSML-37, 16 September 1996.

Hi everyone,

Siobhan and Dave Stewart have apparently split, if you want to believe a tabloid
report published here on the weekend (which would have been lifted from a UK
paper, but no source was given):

****************
POP SUCCESS LED TO SICK OBSESSION
Life was so good to Dave Stewart, he invented imaginary illnesses to bring himself
down to earth.
The rock star had a phenomenal career as one half of the Eurythmics, a $60 million
fortune and a string of homes around the world.
But he still couldn't stop worrying -a psychological condition doctors called Paradise
Syndrome.
Now he has a real problem. His marriage to singer Siobhan Fahey is over.
Stewart, 44 has left his wife and two young children at the family home in north-west
London to live alone in a flat.
Friends say Siobhan's patience with her husband's hypochondria had worn thin during
their nine years of marriage.
Even Stewart recently admitted "Siobhan has become so used to seeing me popping
to hospital that she ignores me. If I collapse now, she just steps over me to make a
cup of tea."
A music industry insider said: "This should make Dave concentrate on real problems
rather than those he has been imagining."
Siobhan, 39-year old former singer with Bananarama and Shakespear's Sister, said
yesterday: "We weren't living together on a regular basis. We've always done our own
thing. But with two strong individuals it leads to conflict.
There is no bad feeling. We'll still go on family holidays together."
Siobhan has had her own troubles. In 1994 she was admitted to a private hospital
amid reports she had suffered a breakdown.
Stewart, 44, had hits through the 1980s alongside his former lover Annie Lennox as
the Eurythmics.

Here's a review of Marcy's single I Hate You Now in "Beat" magazine from last
week:

"Booted out of Shakespear's Sister, her first solo album featured a duet with Elton
John, and sucked the big one. Now Marcella reacquaints herself with the odd pop of
her former group. This is a big Motown-y thing but comes with unstable Annie
Lennox-esque vocals and a few strange twists and turns. Almost brilliant."

And now it's time to use that desperate ploy to generate some interest on the mailing
list....YES, A SURVEY! (Don't cringe!) Please answer as many questions as you feel
like. I will post answers to the list, but will keep it anonymous if you request it.

Subject: Hello kids

Well the SS single was never released domestically here in Canada. Rumours have it
that the song was played on local stations but I never heard it (must have been the UK
Chart Attack which plays that sort of thing). Anyways, apparently the album is due
for release tomorrow but I won't be crossing my fingers just yet. The Pet Shop Boys
album has already been pushed back TWICE! But I will call the local shops just to
torment them.

That Marcy email was the EXACT same one I was sent! So much for individual
replies.... Her CD single I ordered still has not arrived, nor my Bananarama
compilation. Alas, I will have to wait once again.......... :(

Subject: 'Hormonally Yours' and 'I don't Care'

Hi
I have just been reading the Shakespear's Sister page
(http://w3.one.net~voyager/disco.hmtl)... I am doing some research on SS and
wondered if you have any idea what the current sales for "I don't care" (the singles)
and "Hormonally Yours" (the album and the video) are. I have looked everywhere but
with no success so far.
