Chapter Four: All Alone

"Dinner and dancing," Deanna said the next night, around one o'clock. "You really know how to show a girl a good time Howie."

"I try," Howie said shyly.

"I wish you weren't leaving in two days," Deanna said.

"Me too," Howie said.

"Come in," Deanna said, as she opened the door of her house. She turned on the lights and walked to her kitchen, "Want anything to drink?"

"No thanks," Howie said.

She went to him. He hugged her. They embraced forever, or at least it seemed like forever to both of them. Then they kissed.

"I love kissing you," Howie said. "I think I could kiss you forever." "I love kissing you too," Deanna said. "Keep kissing me."

He kissed her again. She began to lead him to a couch in her living room. They fell onto the couch and their kissing became more passionate.

"Deanna, should I keep going or-" Howie asked. Deanna pulled his mouth to hers. He kissed her again and began unbuttoning her blouse.

"Do you have any roommates?" Howie asked.

"No," Deanna gasped. "We're all alone. Do you have any?"

"Of course," Howie said. "Kevin made me bring them." Howie pulled a silver, foil packet from his jacket pocket.

"He must be a fortune teller," Deanna giggled. She pulled Howie to her again, but then she tensed.

"What's the matter?" Howie asked, concern etched in his face.

"I'm just wondering what you're gonna think about me afterwards," Deanna said. "I mean I really want to do this, but this isn't something I normally do."

"What do you mean?" Howie asked.

"I'm not a slut who sleeps with anyone who's nice to her," Deanna said. "I've never ever slept with anyone I've just met."

"We really don't have to," Howie said. "We could just talk or something."

"I just want to know if you're gonna respect me in the morning," Deanna said, "Or if I'm gonna be that girl from Oklahoma City who gave it up."

"I'd never think something like that!" Howie said. "You'd be Deanna, the beautiful nurse who I have a special, strange connection to."

"Who writes your lines?" Deanna asked. "They should write for the movies."

Howie blushed, "You really are special."

"So are you," Deanna said as she kissed him again. "I really want to do this."

Howie kissed her and pulled her as close as he could.
