"The Blues Drivers" were started in early 99' (around March) by Bill, Dick and
Shane. Drawn together by their mutual musical preference (da blues) and their lack of
things to do, these fledgling blues drivers started writing their own material and
practicing those time tested covers sometimes unleashed upon unsuspecting crowds. It
was soon the decision of this blues trio to appropriate some percussion enlightenment.
The band first enlisted the drumming antics of the very hard working lad Albert
Lionais last spring. Albert proved to be a hand full, plus his drumming skills
intimidated the band. So with a heavy sigh in their hearts they heaved Albert on the
garbage pile and restarted the epic search for a drummer. A couple of day’s later
Thomas Allen (drummer extrodenare) was cornered in a coffee shop on the North
Sydney and forcefully brought into the fold. Now armed with a full arsenal of original songs this blues band is turning a few heads with their blend of blues, rock, hill-billy, and surf. Since that faithful night they played at the annual GobbleFest the band has played a good handful of shows in Sydney and the Northside. The latest feather in the Blues Drivers hat being a gig at the Eastcoast Unauthorized. What’s in store for the Blues Drivers in the future you say? Besides drug abuse, bizarre pagan rituals and the suspicions of homicide the band is not totally certain, but they have made a commitment to keep you updated. |
