Lawnsmell/All You Can Eat split 12"

This is the last album Lawnsmell released, it was a split album with California's All You Can Eat released on Sydney's Blind Records. It was originally released only on vinyl but after they all sold out it was put onto CD. The Lawnsmell tracks are fantastic, stand-outs are 'Fight or Fight', 'I'm gone' and the closing track, 'Easier'. Well it's not exactly the closing track as A.Y.C.E. contribute a secret track at the end of the album with their melodic tribute to 'We Are the World'. A.Y.C.E.'s other tracks are mostly covers and didn't hold my interest for as long as the Lawnsmell tracks, although their cover of Run DMC's 'It's Tricky' is great and justifies them being on the album alone.

De-sexed

De-sexed was released on Lawnsmells own label Bluish-Greenish Records. It has five original songs, the tracks from their debut vinyl EP, a bunch of songs at the end labelled simply 'bonus mess' and a killer secret track that sounds like the soundtrack to a computer game. De-sexed starts off fast with 'Left Behind' and continues the pace with 'Love', a Screaching Weasel cover. There are few other covers on the CD like 'Birthday' by the Sugarcubes and a hacky version of 'God Save the Queen' by the Sex Pistols. i don't think i could bring myself to name any standouts but the brilliant loud/soft 'Midget' and the catchy 'New School' are probably my favourites.

Lawnsmell/No Reason split 7"

This 7" was brought out in 1997, and is a split between Lawnsmell and Sydney hard-core outfit No Reason. There were 500 copies released and Glenn Smith did the distinct artwork for the cover. The Lawnsmell tracks are 'Bottom of the Sun', 'Merciless' and 'Why Quit'

Too Much To Ask? - Compilation

Too Much To Ask? is a compilation by Rabbit Records. Released in 1996 , it features bands like Crank and Your Mother. The Lawnsmell tracks on this CD are my two favourites from the Lawnsmell/All You Can eat split 12", 'I'm gone' and 'Fight or Flight' (see top of the page).

Now You Don't Remember - Compilation

Now You Don't Remember is another compilation brought out by Rabbit Records in 1995 . It includes tracks by No Fun At All, Goober Patrol, One Inch Punch and Millencollin. The Lawnsmell track is 'Midget' taken from De-sexed (see above). Glenn Smith did the fantastic cover artwork for both this compilation and also for Too Much To Ask?
