The concert was so much fun, I am
going to go again when they are back in
town. From the beginning to the end, the
crowd and I were amazed by the amount
of energy the band put into their shows.
Everyone from little kids and adults were
on their feet singing to that ever popular
song "Don't Speak."
The concert started with the music from
Star Wars (you can hear at the official No
Doubt website). Then the band came out. The
band members were decked out in their "normal"
clothes. Tony was in a blue jump suit, Gwen
was wearing red pants and a tee shirt, and
Adrian was shirtless like always. Then, they
began to play right away.
Most of the songs on the Tragic
Kingdom CD were played, with a few
exceptions. "Sixteen" was left out, and so
was "World Go Round," a song that the
band is not too happy with. They played
one of their older songs, "Total Hate."
Gwen would introduce the songs with a
spiffy little intoduction. An example of this
is when she ran up to Tom Dumont and
said, "Hey, Tom. Look at all the different
people." They than began to play
"Different People."
"Just A Girl" was also a fun part of the
concert because Gwen asked all the guys
to say "I'm just a girl." Then, she asked all
the girls to say, "Fuck you, I'm a girl!"
Imagine 2,000 girls screaming that... it
ruled.
Another highlight was when the band
played the acoustic version of "Hey You."
(This version of "Hey You" can also be
downloaded from the official website).
It fits the song and that is how it should
have been recorded on the CD.
In closing, all I can say is that if you
have the opportunity to go to a No Doubt
concert, TAKE IT. If you do not you will
never know how fun a concert can be.
Even if they are not your favorite band, you
will have a fun time there, and isn't that
what music is about, just having fun?
