Here's where I write about the new releases I pick up from the record store I work at, or get sent to me (thanks to anyone who has sent me their promo packages!) stuff I think you should check out (or maybe avoid!) But this is only my opinion of course :o)
COMING SOON: IVY "APARTMENT LIFE", SETTIE "I
THINK TOO MUCH", AND MORE!
Kacy Crowley--Anchorless
Kacy Crowley released her debut album, "Anchorless"
on Atlantic in 1997. Her music is folk-pop with a country
influence. Her voice grates somewhere between Alanis Morrisette
and Shawn Colvin. She sings about her experiences- Rebellion,
Drinking, seeing Mick Jagger. Honestly, the first time I heard
this CD I didn't think much of it, but upon the second take I
found I liked it much better. Most of the songs are melodic and
hummable/danceable. The only thing that I find annoying is her
voice- it warbles out of key and all over the place. This is
worth checking out if you like Jewel, Shawn Colvin or like
country-tinged music.
