--Mulder, it's me. Sorry for the delay in replying - I've been pretty wrapped up in decoding that manuscript you FAXed me.

>something pretty AMAZING, Scully, and I know you won't believe me until you see it, being the skeptic that you are. So I'm faxing you some of the LOST PAGES FROM JOHN DEE's DIARY, the stuff that supposedly was lost and/or burned in that fire!!! I didn't find that in the museum-- will explain later.<

Where *did* you find this material? You realize of course that Elizabethan scholars have believed this destroyed for decades? The light this throws on the politics of that period is incredible, not to mention the history of hermetic and alchemical studies - but we'll leave that for now--

>It backs up what that nutty guy (Tyson) had to say in his book that everybody scoffed at, including you :)<

All right, one point for your side.

>As to what Manson has planned for Feb. 14, well, just let me know what you think when you get that fax...it documents that theory of the "APOCALYPSE WORKING"!!<

Did a lot of background reading on this. You're of course familiar with the work of Jack Parsons, the Caltech scientist and renegade genius who involved himself with Aleister Crowley (a name that keeps cropping up in the Manson material by the way - I probably need to read more about him) and finally detonated himself trying to perform a complicated ritual. The ritual was called "The Babalon _Working_" (is 'working' a common term in this area? It's not exactly my line), it was intended to initiate a new era in human history (the Age of Horus the Child), and it was performed *exactly* 51 years ago, this month (mid-February 1946). Considering the stress on children and childhood in the Manson material I can't help but feel this is significant. Could Manson consider himself some sort of successor to Parsons' and Crowley's work in the occult?

>off). Anyway, he appears to have changed the ritual quite a bit-- He's written a bunch of notes in the margins...stuff about ...oh forget it. Can't read his handwriting. Let me know if you can make sense of it.<

Not much - he scrawls like a grade-schooler. Complicated calculations regarding numbers of people, percentages of energy, sonic frequencies, and what looks like a revised list of song titles. A lot of numbers. I do see "watchtowers" and a lot of rune-like or sigillic markings. (Who is Dr. Hook?)

>I sent 30 cc. Can you make sure none of that blood is missing? It's very important that the Millennium Group not get any of it.<

I'm certain of it. Won't mention here where it is - I can't guarantee this account is secure. (For that matter, I'm still uneasy about Manson having my e-mail address. I do *not* believe his ESP is acute enough for him to have picked it out of your head - he got it from a connection somewhere and that's not reassuring.)

>beginning to fit together here. There's some speculation that the Hebrew alphabet can resonate with DNA when spoken properly in the ancient dialect and we know that Manson has that piece of recombinant alien DNA in his genes...this may be the key (literally) to the power of his Feb.14 ritual.<

This is far out even for you, Mulder.

>Agreed. Good work, Scully. A further thought...these as-yet-undecoded files might also be tied to this alien DNA sequence.<

>Scully!! Please don't be so careless as to mention her name over the internet again. She's one of our best informants, and we may need her help with this case!<

That *was* careless. I've been having headaches - may be a lingering effect of that ergot poisoning. Better get that under control.

Got to go - a lot more reading to do here. Stay in touch.
