Re: XFiles Case #9637

> Anyway, I wanted to confirm - though you'd probably guessed by now - that they bought my presentation. Skinner may suspect, but he's in no position to press anything right now. As far as the Bureau is concerned, you're dead, I'm dying, and I've completely repudiated any connection with you and the X-Files. We took a big gamble in hoping that my credibility was still sound after four years on this assignment, but it paid off (now I'll bet you're glad I've always insisted on my scientific detachment). It was one of the hardest things I've ever done and I must have done it well. Too bad you couldn't be there to see it.<

Heh. I saw it on TV! I'm really having a great time being "dead", BTW. And stop being so melodramatic --you know you're not gonna die either :)

I guess by now you've read that Weekly World News article, since I know you're monitoring the Marilyn Manson mailing list. I was going to tell you about that...it was slipped under my door anonymously as usual. Before I could fax you a copy, it disappeared! I can see now that whoever took it has leaked it to the list through that Aleck person. Is he our new Seattle operative? If you don't know anything about him either, then do you suppose he's with the Millennium Group? The book is an obvious fake though: it isn't listed as being in print, and besides, the letters in "Calke" add up to 32 -- which is 23 in reverse!! Clearly a piece of disinformation :)

Anyway, that article conveniently fits in with what I was going to tell you. I think we've finally stumbled onto the secret interest that Frank Black has had in the Manson case...

> Manson's new video is being shown on MTV now and it's even more ominous than you suspected - a clear warning that he believes his life is in imminent danger. (Whoever sent you that untraceable email about it understated the Christ symbolism considerably.)<

I think you're right, Scully. Actually, that's why it took me so long to write back...I can't tell you over this unsecure line where I was when I saw the first broadcast of that "Man That You Fear" video, but there was a lot of electronic equipment handy, and we discovered subliminal messages in between some of the frames, as well a subsonic audio overlay (oddly enough, in ancient Hebrew). Due to the extreme nature of these messages, we (you DO know who my assistants are, don't you?) realized it was necessary to get to the bottom of this quickly.

First, we had to establish how or at least when the subliminals got in there. It obviously wasn't Manson or any of his people. We suspected MTV, but were able to get into their studio and monitor the next outgoing broadcast of the video, and it was clean. However, when the signals reached their destination, the subliminals were there! To make a long story short, we have narrowed the culprint to two C-band satellites owned by Hughes Communications, Inc. -- the Galaxy IX delivering MTV satellite feeds to Viacom on the West coast, and another one used by the East coast.

It appears that someone is intermittently intercepting the signals and inserting subliminals. But only in Manson videos, and they are being roughly targeted at cities on their tour schedule. What they consist of are the words "KILL GOD" over Manson's face in his Christ-like role in this video. I'm afraid that this someone is hoping to further encourage the mentally unhinged contingent of Manson's fan base to make an attempt on his life in order to fulfill this "antichrist superstar prophesy." I'm still investigating some other factors that may be involved ...ground-wave military transmission systems that can target a particular area more specifically for mind-control purposes, which might be used to reinforce and amplify this effect a few days before Manson's appearance in various cities.

This religious prophesy angle fits right in with the Millennium Group. It all makes sense now. Except for one thing: are they the ones masterminding the whole mind control operation, or are they trying to stop it? Contrary to what we'd normally think about the Millennium Group, I'm wondering if they may actually be trying to hold off the "end times" by nipping this Antichrist in the bud before he has a chance to rise to his full power.

Mulder.

p.s. - interesting, that missing fingerprint. What was in it? I never got that copy you sent me.
