Manson Place
Grinch:
This is just an idea that I've been turning over in my head for a few
days, considering that at the moment Australian television is in the
non-ratings period (meaning that all the shows are crappy, unamusing
re-runs).... What would it be like to have Marilyn Manson cast in some
form of sitcom or series??? Personally I can see them in a rip off of
maybe...Melrose Place (any take off of this show would be an
improvement) except that it would be titled:
MANSON PLACE (surprise, surprise)....
The characters could include:
Mr Manson: the owner of the large bus that the characters live in (the
Misery Machine) and the head of a large chain of bondage supplies called
'AntiChrist Activities' (suppling the right stuff for all the 'wrong'
people in the world)....
Temptress Twiggy: Mr Manson's private secretary who mumbles phone
messages, continuious looks great and is living with Ginger Fish.
Twiggy is also going through a tough time dealing with the sexual
advices made by his boss, Mr Manson.
Ginger Fish: lives and loves with Twiggy, works at AntiChrist Activities
but only as a designer (and thus can't keep a watch on his beloved
Twiggy). Ginger also likes playing the drums, eating Chinese food and
taking long walks along the beach at sunset.
Ms Zim: a new addition to 'AntiChrist Activities' Ms Zim is a model for
the company that hired him solely for the way that he looks in thigh
highs and tiny, micro shorts. Ms Zim spends most of his free time
hanging around with his best friend Pogo, harassing young children.
Pogo Gacy: also works as an assistant at 'AC A' and is the only other
person who knows of Mr Manson's advances towards Twiggy. Pogo also has a
small enterainment business, supplying clowns and balloon men for
little spooks' parties, as a side-project.
So there's the starting line up.... In the future, if this is well
received, I may consider adding more intense plot twists (ie. putting in
a decent plot) and introducing some more characters (like a certain
redneck that tries to hassle Ms Zim and a female stalker for Mr
Manson)....
Phoenix:
hey...i think it has potential! other characters can include:
Joik:
I think so too, though I've never seen Melrose Place (aside from commercials
that show parts of the show) so I wouldn't understand many references made
to that show. =P
Phoenix:
Mr Reznor--Mr M's business partner, drinking buddy, and perhaps possibly
more at one time?
Grinch:
I think this could work.... and later in the series we can have Mr
Reznor, Mr Manson and Temptress Twiggy having a kind of threesome-love
triangle.
Phoenix:
Scott Berkowitz--He comes back a few months into the show, during sweeps
period...takes a liking to Ms. Zim, but avoids the others..hrmm..why is
that?
Grinch:
He takes an instant liking to Ms Zim (how could you not????) but feels
at odds with the others due to a sneaking suspicion that they owe him
money from a previous life....
Joik:
Alright amy, stop that. =P Scott Berkowitz does *not* actually like Ms.
Zim, he's only pretending to do so in order to keep Zim from guessing about
the show's season finale...
Phoenix:
hrmm..perhaps we can put some Spooky Kids into the show...hell, it can be
a soap opera on this list sometimes!
Grinch:
Definitely, all spookys can star as extras and other workers at
'AntiChrist Activities'. Some can be stars (ie. Night Angel can play Mr
Manson's fiance who turns up one episode after being missing in
'Canadia' for a few years)
I've also considered making Mr Manson's stalker a male from his past who
keeps sending him lighters, blow touches and matches....go figure!!!
Should there be a Madam Robin who runs 'special' company that both
Twiggy and Ms Zim are secretly working for????? I think so.... such jobs
could pay off with intriguing plot twists later in the series....
Any other character suggestions are much appreciated and may, if I can
be bothered, eventuate into a rundown of a few episodes (I don't know
about actual scripts, that could be pushing it)!!!!
Phoenix:
not to mention a special guest appearance by Skankgrrl
Grinch:
Okay, so the general idea in the first episode will be a brief
introduction to the characters and their situations, with all other
episodes 'leading you into a more complex outlook on life at MANSON
PLACE'....
Of course, any show has it's list of gimmicks. Here are some that I'd
like to see in Manson Place:
WIGS: each episode Temptress Twiggy can be wearing a different
colour/style/length wig which can lead to a few 'moment of truth' type
scenes inwhich Twiggy can actually reveal his real hair to a particular
loved one.... This gimmick also leaves him open to black mail by those
who know that he wants to keep his real hair a secret....
CHICKENS: throughout the series there can be many references to chickens
(be they dead, alive, dehydrated, whatever... even pets!!). Possiblities
include: chicken dinners, easter, farm animals(smile if you had sex with
a farm animal last night???), and even as low as just having an extra
walk through a scene in a chicken costume...
Mr Reznor's moustache (spelling??): this one will be tough.... the mou'
will be slightly different each episode (combed, spiked, dyed, etc, etc).
Look below in the drinking games to discover what happens if the mou'
disappears altogether....
I can't think of any more gimmicks as we speak but I'm working on it....
Now, with any good (???) series comes the creation of fun drinking
games; some could be taking various shots whenever certain things happen
in the show, such as:
One shot if:
*Mr Manson hits on Twiggy.
*The episode opens up with a scene of any extra cleaning, scrubbing or
polishing the Misery Machine (this is a blatant rip off of the ever
present 'Pool Cleaner opening scene' from Melrose Place).
*Ginger takes one of his beloved walks 'along the beach at sunset'.
*Any cast member is wearing leather pants.
*Twiggy's lipstick is actually on his lips (not elsewhere).
*Mr Manson recieves anything from his 'friendly neighbourhood stalker'.
Two shots if:
*Pogo makes a reference to his clown and balloonmen business.
*Scott Berkowitz has a flash back from a past life.
*If you recognise a spookykid as an extra or character.
*Ginger gets a hint of what's going on between Twiggy and Manson.
Three shots if:
*You actually wholly understand one of Twiggy's sentences.
*Ms Zim is wearing anything other than thigh highs with tiny shorts or
skirt.
*Pogo has a little boy with him.
*Madam Robin forgot to pencil in his eyebrows.
Drink the whole bottle if:
* Mr Reznor's moustache has disappeared (completely).
*Any of cast members from Marilyn Manson have eyebrows (real ones, not
fake ones).
*Madam Robin turns up wearing a Gun 'N Roses t-shirt.
*Any of Pogo's little boys "go missing".
*Ms Zim is caught masturbating with guitar parts.
If this were a real show, I think I'd be pretty smashed after about five
minutes (which is always a good thing)!!!!
I can't think anymore....NEEEED COFFEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Joik:
For the final showstopper (skinpopper ;), Mr. Manson decides to have a
mirror installed in the Misery Machine. He calls up the local S&M/hardware
store to confirm that they have what he wants, then sends Ms. Zim to go pick
it up, since a) Scott Berkowitz will not talk to Mr. Manson, b) Twiggy is
not able to purchase anything since no retailer would be able to understand
a word he said, c) Pogo is already smack dab flat on his back since it's
past noon, d) Ginger is hiding from Mr. M, and e) Manson sure as hell isn't
going to waste his precious time on something so trivial as buying it
himself (plus he doesn't drive). So Ms. Zim makes his/her way to the store,
walks past the rows of bondage gear, and finally reaches the back, where a
gorgeous transvestite wearing a nametag that says "Brad" on it is sitting
behind the counter. Zim asks Brad about the mirror and Brad asks who it's
for. When he hears "Manson", he grins wickedly and tells Ms. Zim to return
to his/her home and that the very best mirror in the store will be
personally hand-delivered to the Misery Machine by Mr. Brad Gein at
absolutely no charge. Ms. Zim, now very confused, attempts a smile and
walks out of the store and back to Manson Place.
Later that day, there's a knock on the Misery Machine. Manson is inside,
reading Kurt Vonnegut's new book Timequake (get it! =). He gets up to
answer the door and sees a face that he hasn't viewed in years. Old
feelings are revived and the two embrace, then passionately kiss each other
in a scene that should either make the ratings shoot through the roof or
make almost every viewer change the channel. After Manson helps Gein back
into his skirt, Gein hangs the mirror in the Misery Machine and the two go
out for a drink. Twiggy returns from a shopping spree at the local Tower
Records just after they have left. Seeing what appears to be Mr. Manson and
an attractive young lady walking off into the distance, Twiggy is
heartbroken. He steps into the Misery Machine to collect his thoughts and
notices the most hideous creature he has ever seen in his life staring back
at him. After a few minutes, he finally realizes that the horrible
monstrosity is none other than himself, and his self-esteem drops to about
negative three on a scale of one to ten. Twiggy, now feeling incredibly
suicidal, seeks out advice from Pogo, who is still very stoned and listening
to an old Big Black vinyl. Pogo could care less about Twiggy's problems,
but offers Twiggy whatever drugs he wants. Since Twiggy cannot think
rationally, he takes everything in sight. Pogo finds this odd, but says
nothing as he really doesn't care. =) Twiggy stumbles out of the room, past
Ginger (who was just dropping by to bring Pogo the day's sales report), and
makes his way towards the pool. Ginger enters and chats with Pogo, asking
Pogo what was wrong with Twiggy. Pogo mumbles unintelligibly and Ginger
begins to suspect that something is afoot.
"Meanwhile..."
At the same time as Twiggy was destroying himself with foreign substances,
Ms. Zim had returned back to Manson place. Here he/she is confronted by
Scott Berkowitz, who has still not revealed his past to him/her. Zim tells
Scott that he/she just had an odd experience and that the only way to calm
his/her nerves is to play guitar. Scott grimaces, but says nothing when Zim
picks up a guitar and attempts to play Lunchbox. When Scott can take it no
longer, he pulls out his own guitar (which he somehow has on him) and tells
Zim "listen, you may look good but you can't play guitar to save your life."
Then Scott plays the intro to Lunchbox and Zim's jaw drops to the floor.
"You just... but.. how did you... I could never..."
"Zim, I am beyond your experience."
Zim's face pales (though you can't see it under all the powder he's/she's
wearing) as he/she realizes who he/she is speaking with. Quickly, Scott
yanks the E string off of Zim's guitar and wraps it around his/her neck,
cutting off the air supply. He then procedes to drag Zim's body out of the
room and stumbles over what appears to be a car-crash victim. Closer
inspection reveals that it is simply Twiggy, who has passed out in front of
the room and is nearly dead. Scott comes across a plan and drops Zim on top
of Twiggy. He then drags the two bodies to the pool, where he fixes it so
that the two will appear to be holding each other with their mouths firmly
pressed together. The two bodies are then thrown into the water, so it
appears that Twiggy and Zim are making out in the pool. Water quickly
enters their lungs, but Twiggy is almost dead and cannot respond. Zim, now
underneath Twiggy, is awakened by the cold water but unable to move due to
Twiggy's dead weight. He struggles, but after two minutes passes out.
Scott watches the scene with a bit of remorse, as he did not really want to
kill anyone, but realized that it was necessary. As he leaves, he does not
notice that a lean young male with a drummer's physique has seen him
exiting. Ginger, who has just left Pogo's room, was only able to see a
shadow walking away, but suspects that it may be Scott. However, his
attention is immediately diverted by the two bodies in the pool. He runs
back inside Pogo's room to ask for the phone, but Pogo's phone is hidden
under piles of junk (flyers, newletters, paraphernalia, books, jars
containing gawd-knows-what, albums, etc.) that clutter the entire area.
Once Ginger finally locates the phone, he calls the cops, who immediately
disbelieve him ("Aren't you them boys who like to start trouble? 'Anti-cop'
and all that?"). Just when Ginger has convinced them that the situation at
Manson Place was not a hoax, Pogo sees Manson and Gein returning from their
night on the town. Pogo gets up to greet them and trips over the phone
cord, yanking it out of the wall and hanging up on Ginger. The cops, now
slightly concerned, call back to see if everything is alright. Since the
phone does not work, they receive the answering machine message: "ACiD iS
GRooVY - KiLL THe PiGS!" Offended, the cops decide to ignore the phone call
and do not check up on the Manson Place gang again.
*Final scene*:
All five members of the Manson Place crew are gathered around the pool with
shocked looks on their faces. Ginger is the only one who is pretty sure
that Scott did it, and is about to voice his suspicion when Manson turns
away from the grisly scene with a shrug and says "I have finally found true
love. Brad is going to be working *under* me from now on as my personal
secretary." All are shocked for about two seconds, until Manson does
something even more shocking - he apologizes to Mr. Berkowitz for his past
behavior. The two shake hands and the camera zooms in on their handshake,
then fades out to a black screen with the Shock Symbol on it. The word
"Antichrist" appears above it in dripping blood-red letters and "Activities"
appears below it in the same fashion. The screen fades again, and
information on Antichrist Activities appears on the screen ("Prices so low
you can't beat them with a cat 'o nine tails - but it would be fun to
try..."). Some very distinctive high notes begin to play on a guitar in the
background and the info screen gives way to a shot of the Manson Place gang
standing in front of the Misery Machine with their respective instruments.
They play "Thrift", with Scott smiling like a Cheshire Cat the entire time
and Manson/Gein exchanging glances. The song ends and the credits roll.
The end. >=)
