My eyes stared horrendously at what they saw. There he was. Walking casually to his dressing room. He looked tired, his body drenched with sweat making his shirt cling on to his body. And he seemed so unaware of everything, so at ease. I felt my insides stir and felt my heart pounding against my chest. I wanted to touch him so bad, just once. He wouldn’t mind. I fought against myself, my brain telling me not to but my heart saying go ahead. In the end, my heart won me over. I felt the impact of the ground on my feet as a started to run.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…….." I turned around surprised and deafened by the sudden high pitched screaming. A mass of screaming girls was Flooding towards him. They were screaming hysterically and holding their hands out. They were sure to hurt themselves.
I turned my eyes to look at him. His face was full of shock. With his mouth agape and his blue eyes wide. Suddenly I felt compelled to save him. I ran ahead of the younger, slower fans and braced his shoulder, pushing him into his dressing room. A sigh of relief, he was safe inside, but I wasn’t,… the girls were coming at me, damn. I screamed. I had to defend myself, if I didn’t, well lets just say I’d never enjoy music again. But let me tell you, black belts and karate chops come in handy in these life or death situations.
The first girl who even dared come close to me hit hard banging on the door. But they still came.
"Oh my god, oh my god, its him!" They chanted his name over and over, (with an occasional "I love you!" somewhere mixed in there.) I beat them all back, as I heard angry shouts of "Hey! My nail-you broke it." Or "You freak! You made my mascara run!". The night continued like that until everything went black.
The next morning I woke up with vague memories of the concert and the after hours of the night before. "Where the hey am I?" I thought. I rolled over, on the couch I mysteriously ended up on and screamed. There he was, and with that image, I realized I was in his dressing room. "I couldn’t find your um……friends so I thought you could stay here. I almost fainted again while he talked to me about how the security had told him what had happened.
I felt proud, I saved his life, well sorta. "Thanks fer saving my life." He smiled, I guess he could read my mind. I smiled sheepishly and looked down. "Nancy…" he said breaking the silence. "Would you like to get a soda or something?" "Huh? Would I?!? Oh, uh… yeah sure." I finally managed to stutter out. "Hey wait? How’d ya know my name?" "The little birdie told me." He replied with a cocky grin. "And it’s on your backstage pass." "Oh, yeah."
The moment of awkward silence was ended when his younger brother busted into the room. "Hey guess whut? My album just went platinum!…Hey there’s a girl in here! Mom said no girls in the dressing rooms! Oooooooooooooo"
"But she’ll only know if you tell her won’t she? And your not going to tell her are you?" He replied looking evilly into the kid’s eyes, pronouncing each word carefully and slowly. He smiled them pushed the kid out. "Sorry." He said turning to me with apologetic eyes. "I guess you should leave before he squeals. Thanks again."
"Okay" I replied but not moving an inch. Still traumatized I guess. So he kept repeating himself over and over again coming closer and closer.
All of a sudden him mom bursts into the room. "I thought I told you to clean-" She stopped midway in her sentence and gasped. "A G-I-R-L!" "Uh oh." I heard him mutter under his breath. I had to do something. "Actually Miss, I’m really a guy in disguise…"
Nick looked at me in disbelief "But you - you look so real." He continues to stare at me uncomprehendable of what he saw. We all turn suddenly at the sound of massive laughing.
"You’re in love with a guy….hee hee hee." His younger bro laughed.
"Now everybody just calm down! Calm down! L-" his mom shouted red as az tomato, but I decided that before things got worse I should explain myself so I cut her off. "Gotcha!" I screamed playfully. They all turned their heads toward me and gave me "the look".
"SECURITEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" They all chorused as his mom walked away and his bro walked out laughing. That left me and him alone. He turned to me and smiled. That’s the night I met, and fell for Nick Carter. Damn, what a smile.
"Anyway, Me and Nick, no wait, Nick and I started dating after that night. I know, I know, I still wonder how, or why too. Shut up Nick, it is a confusing subject, I don't know what you saw in me! Anyway if Nick here will let me finish.......okay then. I learned to love Nick over the years, all of Nick, his annoying whines YES you do whine. youre whining rite now! sheesh whatever anyway, like I said, I learned to love him, his sloppiness, his horny phases, OWW, yes you are horny! shut up! okay let me continue. I learned to get used to his pathetic puppy dog look (which is not very cute, like I said, its pathetic). Also his impatience, his leaving me for months and months, him drooling over other girls, YES YOU DO! I SAW THE WAY YOU LOOKED AT HER! OH SHUT UP. Okay lemme finish. I learned to love his lopsided, but yet cute, grin, his dimples, his eyes. The way they look at the ocean, how the sight of the sea or the smell of the ocean breeze makes those eyes look so, I don’t know how to describe it, I guess it makes his eyes just look down right beautiful. Ok, I think I’ve said too much. But as you can see, I’ve learned to love the guy. I’ve learned how to cope with all his mistakes, yes, he does have mistakes. And strange enough, he learned to love me, me with my many, MANY, lets just say, imperfections. YES I DO HAVE IMPERFECTIONS! JUST SHUTUP AND LET ME FINISH! okay then. And life is as it is, is perfect.
