Chapter 23

"I'm back, baby," the deep voice sounded through the backstage area, that was now deserted except for Lina, Annie, Brian, Nick, and Kevin.
"David?" Annie asked, straining to see her ex trough the dark.
The lights flickered on. Everyone's eyes settled on the tall lanky figure in front of them. Not because of fear, but of shock. They were expecting to see Annie's old boy friend, with a vengeance. They way she described him, Brian expected a Brad Pitt look-a-like with the strength of a body builder.
The person stepped into the light.
"Michelle?!" Kevin and Nick yelled out in unison, but Kevin didn't quite get to say it since he fainted just at the sight of this woman. After all, she was supposed to be six feet under.
Marcy smiled coyly, "Oh, how I hate it when people mistake me for Michelle. It gets annoying you know?" She said and took the voice changer away from her mouth.
"But you're....how.....I thought.....then we....but....you," Nick stuttered turning paler by the minute.
"Brian. How could you be so negligent to your poor friends here? Why didn't you tell them about me?" she asked Brian who was still in shock. She turned to Nick and walked over," Hun, close your mouth, it's not flattering," she said and put her hand under his chin to close his mouth.
Brian found his voice," What the hell? Marcy, what in the world are you doing?" he asked angrily, grabbing her arm.
She shrugged him off, "Don't touch," she warned and sauntered back over to where she was before. She walked slowly, swaying her hips purposely. She had on a shiny black cat suit. Brian couldn't touch and probably didn't want to. But she could make him.
"Brian, who is she?" Annie whispered.
"Don't worry about it baby. Just try not to make her mad, I don't know what this psycho is capable of," he whispered back.
Marcy turned around and looked at the people in front of her. Nick, Annie, Brian Lina, and Kevin (on the floor). They were in that order standing in a semi circle with Marcy in the middle.
"OK, now. I know you're wondering what I'm doing here, right?" she paused half expecting a reply. When she didn't get one she continued, "My dear dear sister, Michelle. Oh what a doll. And what a man she picked out!" she said looking over Brian.
"Would you like to know why she never told you about me? Because she was scared. Of what? You ask. That I would steal her precious boy toy away from her," she said, her voice changing to a cold, hard, steady tone,"Pity she had to die though. Before she got to tie the knot. What a hell of a wedding night you could've had, Brian. But you wouldn't know what she was like in bed anyway because you never could get her in the sack," she laughed lightly.
"Shut up! You selfless-"
Marcy put up her finger, "Ah, ah, ah. Brian, I'm not done. It's rude to interrupt. Now, like I was saying. Pity she had to die. Never did find the body...did you Brian?" she smiled when she saw Brian pale, "I know you didn't. I hid her well."
She cocked her head to the side, "Why didn't I take her place? She had this and I wanted it. Nah, I couldn't pull of that goody two shoes act. You shoudl've heard her. 'Oh please Marcy I love you, don't hurt me,' she laughed changing her voice to sound high pitched when she imitated Michelle.
"You Bitch," Brian snarled about to lunge at Marcy, but stopped when she pulled out something from behind her back.
"Not so fast, lover boy," she pulled the gun out in front of her pointing it at Brian, "Now, get your ass back over there, between that bitch, Annie and that little girl," she pointed with the gun and Brian walked backwards. 'Where'd she hide that?" Nick thought to himself.
"Little girl? Who are you calling-" Lina started, but was cut off by a shot.
"Shut up! Or the next bullet will be going in you!" Marcy threatened and Lina quickly shut up. Annie was going to defend herself too, but hearing this person killed her own sister scared the crap out of her, so she wasn't taking any chances.
Marcy pointed the gun at Annie, "And you. I thought you liked the song Criminal," she asked.
"Leave her out of it, she did nothing to you!" Brian yelled.
She rolled her eyes, "I could've sworn I told you to shut up. Don't tempt me to use this gun sooner than I have to, OK?" she turned back to Annie.
"Actually you have nothing to do with it, but I found out your little secrets, things that make you tick. And I though why not have a little fun with the slut," she laughed. She walked over to a table and picked up a tape recorder, the gun still poised in the air. She pushed play.
"Oh God, Brian I love you,"
"I love you too."
"Promise you'll never leave me."
"Never."
"Make love to me, again"
Annie realized what she was playing, "CUT IT OFF!!!" she yelled.
Marcy looked at her and pushed stop, "Why would you want me to cut it off? I was getting to the best part."
"You recorded me and Brian's first night to together?! You really are a sick twisted bitch!" Annie yelled.
"And you say it like it's a bad thing," she laughed, "I wasn't planning on getting this on tape, I only wanted a phone call or something from you, to get a sample of your voice, but when I played the tape back, well...you know."
"I wish you would do what the hell you came to do and leave my wife to be alone!!" Brian yelled and then everybody turned to look at him.
Brian softened his tone and looked at Annie, "I was planning on purposing to you while we were on stage," he smiled crooked.
"Aw, I love you!" Annie said and hugged Brian.
"Alright. Break it up. Break it up," Marcy looked at her watch.
"Hey Brian looks like you'll be seeing Michelle soon."
"What?" he asked.
"Sorry, to say, but I have to break this little party up," Marcy looked at Annie, "Say good bye to Brian, cuz this is the last time you'll see him...alive," she laughed wickedly.
"PLEASE!!! You can't kill him, kill me instead! He's a good man, he doesn't deserve to die!" Annie cried.
"Boo hoo. Go cry me a river!" she said and aimed the gun at Brian.

Lina looked over at Annie who was crying and pleading for Marcy not to shoot Brian.
'Oh God, she's going to jump in front of him when Marcy pulls the trigger. She's pregnant for goodness sakes!! I know her too well and I know she's going to block him. She can't put the baby in jeopardy or herself for that matter!' Lina thought, deciding then what she had to do.

~same time~
'Oh Lord, please don't let her kill Brian. I know I haven't exactly talk to you lately, but this is something I need. If you don't answer my prayer....and soon. I know what I have to do. I have to save Brian. He has his whole life ahead of him. I have no purpose on this earth without him. He does have a purpose, he helps others and he does good.' She thought then rubbed her stomach.

"Say good bye, Brian," Marcy laughed.
Brian stood there, speechless. He had to take it like a man. He didn't want to leave, not now when he had a baby on the way. But if by struggling he would put Annie in danger, then no, he couldn't fight back.
She pulled the trigger.
"NOOOOOOO!!!" Annie and Lina yelled and jumped in front of Brian. The echo of the shot sounded through the room as three bodies lay on the floor, surrounded by blood.
