"Hey Annie," Brian smiled when he saw her turn around.
"BRIAN!" she yelled, "How long have you been standing there?" she asked
worried if he heard what she said.
"Not long, A.J. came in to buy a book and I came in to ask you something."
"OK, what do you wanna know?"
"How would you like to go to dinner with me?" he asked, playing with the hem
of his shirt.
"Well..." she started but felt a kick in her leg and looked back at an
ecstatic Laura, who was trying to tell her with her eyes to say yes, "Okay,
sure"
"OK, then see you at seven?"
"Seven it is," she replied, when A.J. came up to the counter to purchase his
book.
Annie rang it up on the register, "OK, that's $12.50 and may I ask why you're
buying a book called 'You and Your Period'?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"It's not for me! it's for my girlfriends niece!, she just asked me to pick
it up!" A.J. defended himself and gave her the money.
"OK whatever you say" she laughed handing him the bag.
A.J. mumbled something about not buying anything else for Amanda then left
the store.
"I'll see you tonight, bye!" Brian said and followed A.J.
"Bye!" she smiled shyly. When they were out of the store she heard Laura yell.
"OH MY GOD!! I MET THE BACKSTREET BOYS!!!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Are freakin blind? That was BRIAN AND A.J.!!!"
"Are you serious? How could you tell with the hats and sunglasses they were
wearing?"
Laura looked at her friend, "Are you positive that sometime before you
weren't a blonde? That's the thing!! They had on sunglasses and hats and I
would know A.J.'s sexy voice anywhere!" she said.
Annie thought about a minute, "And you know, when I asked Brian what he did,
he said he worked in the "entertainment business""
"Oh My God! My friend is dating a Backstreet Boy!!"
"Why didn't he tell me?"
"Who cares? YOU'RE DATING A BSB!!" Laura shrieked, she was happier than Annie.
"Well, right now I have more important things to worry about...."she trailed
off, but continued silently to herself, 'Like for my date with Brian!'
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR!!" Annie exclaimed plopping down on her bed.
"You're such a drama queen! Why don't you go take a shower and I'll pick out
something for you to wear," Lina said, she came over to help Annie out for
her date, especially after hearing it was Brian Littrell, she had to look
perfect and Lina had to help.
Annie jumped up off the bed, "Thank you SO much Lina you're a life saver!"
she said and ran into the bathroom.
"OK, now what should she wear.....Oh this looks-" Lina was about to comment
on the outfit she picked out when she heard Annie through the bathroom door.
"NO! LINA I, AM, WEARING THAT BRITNEY SPEARS LOOK A LIKE OUTFIT, SO PUT IT
BACK!"
"I didn't even have it out!" Lina called back.
"OK then if I come out there right now you won't be holding it?"
"Um, well," Lina quickly threw the white shimmery skirt and pink tube top
back in the closet, "NO!"
"LIAR!! JUST PICK OUT SOMETHING ELSE!!"
"OK, OK!" Lina pouted, then started looking through Annie's closet again.
~two hours later about 6:40~
"Oh My God! Brian is going to just DIE when he sees you!" Lina said taking a
step back to look at her creation.
"That would be funny, but did you forget we work in an emergency room and
well he did almost...."
"Yeah, I forgot.....OMIGOD! Go back your purse, you only have like 15 minutes
before he gets here!" Lina said giving Annie a purse to match what she was
wearing.
"Geez, Lina you're more nervous than I am!" Annie laughed.
"Well, it's not everyday that my best-friend goes out with a superstar!"
"OK stop talking like he's the pope or something you're making me nervous
now!"
Lina laughed and went to look out the window.
"What are you doing?" Annie asked, stuffing a few items into her purse and
snapping the button closed.
"I'm looking to see what kind of car your date has," Lina replied a matter of
factly.
"He's pulling up! Ooo let me see!" Annie said about to join Lina at the
window, but stopped herself and laughed.
Lina looked at her, "What?"
"Look at us! We're acting like we're in high school!"
"So! Well, you can still act this way, if your in coll....oh I'm sorry Ann,"
Lina stopped herself before finishing her statement.
"It's OK, I might be joining you soon!"
Just then the door bell rang and Annie was about to answer it when Lina
stopped her.
"What are you doing?"
"Rule number one: never answer on the first ring, you don't want to seem
desperate like you were waiting for him,"
"But I was waiting for him!"
"That's beside the point," Lina waited for the doorbell to ring two more
times, "OK, now get it."
Annie just shook her head and answered the door.

~Brian's view~
I pulled up into her driveway, more nervous than ever, 'This is my first date
in three years! I can't do this, what if I mess up or something? Oh God, it
would have to be A.J. to tell me everything that could go wrong! Well, I
guess that was payback for Annie embarrassing him at the store,' I tried to
calm myself, but nothing worked, then I slowly got of my silver convertible
(he has two cars) and walked up the pathway to her house. I rang the doorbell
once, and no answer. 'She's probably still getting ready...girls!' I laughed
at the thought of her scrambling around to get her last minute things
together. I rang the doorbell and second time, still no answer, 'I wonder if
she does that 'don't be desperate' thing Nick's sisters do? Nah,' I tried the
doorbell one last time, I was about to give up when the door opened and I was
faced with the most beautiful creature I've ever seen, the nervous feeling I
had all night seemed to vanish from within me.
"You look......WOW!" was all I could come up with as I laid my eyes upon her
figure draped with a knee high midnight blue dress, it had two splits up the
side to show off enough and still leave some to the imagination and her soft
auburn hair in curls surrounding her rosy face and sparkling ice blue eyes,
that you could get lost in for days. There was this cute little smile on her
face, they say a picture worth a thousand words, but if I took her picture
right now I couldn't think of one, I was speechless. She barely had any
make-up on and still looked ravishing, I admired that in a girl, she sort of
had that natural beauty, where she could wake up in the morning and look ten
times better than any model I've seen.
~Annie's view~
I opened the door to see the most handsome man I'd ever seen. It was strange,
how I had felt nervous the whole night, but when I saw him the feeling was
gone, not an empty feeling, but replaced with well....I couldn't explain it,
it was sort of like he had me under a spell.
"Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself," I said wondering how one man could
possibly look so good. He had on a short sleeve creme colored polo shirt
showing off his well defined muscles, (yeah, I know Brian is skinny, but it's
my story so he has muscles!!), the first button at the top wasn't buttoned
and I couldn't help, but imagine him without that shirt on. His baggy khaki
pants looked so good on him, again I imagined he would look better without
them, 'Damn Lina for making me read all those visuals on the net!' she
thought, thinking that was the resource for her wild imagination.
"You know you actually have to leave the house to get to dinner," Lina said
cutting into my thoughts.
"Shut-up! We're going," I said slightly embarrassed, I hadn't realized I was
staring at him for so long.
"OK, get out I have a date too....with Ryan Phillipe!" Lina said shooing me
out of the house.
I laughed, "Cruel Intentions again?" Lina was hooked on that movie, not to
mention the fact that there was scene where you saw a certain someone's bare
butt.
I turned my attention back to Brian who offered his arm to me, "And we're
off!" he said escorting me back to his car and opening the door for me, 'The
perfect gentleman,' I thought.
Brian got in the driver side, started up the engine and drove off.
"So, where are we going?" I asked.
"Nope, not telling, that's a surprise," I saw him smile.
"You know you don't have to go through all this trouble..."
"It's not alot of trouble, this is our first date.....of hopefully many
more," he added.
I froze, not with fear, but with happiness!, 'Of hopefully many more,' I
repeated in my mind.
"Yeah," I sighed a content smile forming on my face.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"She actually did that!" Brian asked surprised at what I told him.
"Yes! Don't tell Lina I told you though, she'd kill me!" I laughed taking a
sip of my water.
"So, we talked about everything else tonight except us,"
'Us? There was an us?' I thought happily, but that thought faded quickly when
Brian continued.
"Tell me about yourself."
"What do you want to know?"
"Well, for starters you never told me your last name."
"Oh My God! I thought I did, well, it's Millano."
"Are you related to-"
I cut him off knowing what he was going to ask, "No, I;m not related to
Alyssa Millano, everybody thinks I am though, just because of my last name!"
He nodded thoughtfully, "What about your parents?"
"My Mom is the CEO for BMG records, she lives in New York now, but we keep in
touch," I said taking another bite of my spaghetti.
~Brian's view~
I waited for her to continue with her answer to my question when she didn't I
asked her, "And your Dad?"
"I don't know where he is," she said quietly like she was ashamed of it, when
i asked I saw her eyes glaze over with tears she looked down at her food to
avoid looking at me, "And frankly I don't give a damn!" she added sternly, it
seemed like she was trying to convince herself more than me, I reached out to
touch her hand, but before I had a chance she stood up.
"I'll be right back, I'm going to the ladies room for a minute," she said and
I nodded watching her walk off into the restaurant. I sighed deeply, 'Well
atleast I know to stay off that subject,'
A few minutes later she came back.
"What happened to the food?" she asked.
"I was just waiting for you to come back, I paid for the bill already," I
said.
"Well, I had a really nice time tonight," she smiled.
"Oh the evening's not over yet, I have somewhere else to take you," I said
and offered her my arm once again and she hooked her arm around mine.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"This is beautiful, you really didn't have to do this," she said, her eyes
glistening in the moonlight. (Brian had taken her to the Orlando version of
the French Riviera, it exactly like it was in France, complete with a
Frenchman rowing the boat singing love songs)
"But I wanted to," I smiled, "Close your eyes," I instructed.
"Why?"
"Just do it," I started to pout thinking no girl could resist that, "Please."
"Oh alright," she giggled and closed her eyes.
I pulled something from behind my back, "A beautiful rose for a beautiful
lady." I said and saw her face light up.
~Annie's view~
I opened my eyes and saw a white rose in front of me, "Oh my God, Brian! You
really shouldn't have!" I gasped taking the rose from him and looking into
his eyes.
he smoothed hair around my face and he smiled.
"If you keep saying that I'm going to start to think you don't like what I'm
doing," he laughed slightly.
"Oh No! I love it, I just don't want you to go through any trouble for me."
I looked down and ten back up again, I guess one of curls fell from behind my
ear, because he went to push it back, but this time he rested his hand on my
cheek.
"Can I kiss you?" he asked me barely above a whisper.
"I wouldn't have it any other way," I said and we leaned in never breaking
our gaze except to close our eyes when his sweet soft lips brushed mine, then
we gave into the kiss and let it deepen. I opened my eyes for a second and
pushed him back, regaining my breath I yelled, "OH MY GOD!!! WATCH OUT!"
