Chapter 3

"Fuck!!" I screamed at Brian. "What the hell do you think youre doing?" I asked furious.

"If you hadn't passed me the ball hitting my head then maybe I wouldnt have intentionally poured my water on you," he replied in a playful tone.

"Can you just leave me alone I have a really big headache and that cold water just doesnt seem to help," I snapped at him, I've been doing that a lot to him.

"FINE!!!," he yelled as I took a seat under a shady tree while Brian, Nancy, and Nick contiued their ball game. I fell asleep as the warm breeze blew through my hair. I was rudely awakened by the feeling of a basketball hitting my stomach. "What's your damn problem?" I asked Brian. I looked down at my shirt it was all muddy with a basketball print. I gasped loudly.

"I am so sorry. The ball went loose and it went into a puddle and I was trying to throw it back to Nick. I am so sorry," he apologozed giving puppy dog eyes.

"Dont give me that pathetic look thinking that you can get away with anything," I scolded.

"What the hell is your problem? I said I was sorry what else do you want me to do... damn you've been such a bitch since day one to me, except for the time in the hospital when you first woke up. But I guess you were just heavily sedated," he told me off. Nobody has ever told me off like that since that one time in middle school.

"There you go judging me again," I said under my breath making sure he'd hear.

He stopped me in my tracks and grabbed my arm. "Why did you come to apologize to me at the table and why did you snap I mean we never did get around to it," he asked sweetly.

"Dont you even grab me like that," I glared at him forcing myself loose. Nick and Nancy resumed their game as Brian and I bickered. I ran over to watch Nancy stealing the ball making an easy three. "Okay... game over lets go," I declared leading the way to the car.

AT THIS POINT IN THE STORY I THINK IT WOULD BE BEST IF NANCY TOOK OVER

"What happened?" I asked Brian. Cindy angrily led the way to her car as Nick tried to catch up after rebounding the ball.

"I dont know, but maybe you should talk to her she's been pretty mean to me and it seems not like the same girl that didnt know who we were that first time we met," he said sweetly.

"You said she snapped at you when you went to get a bottle of water right?"

"Right"

"What did you say to her?"

"I dont remember, something like I didnt think her to be shy after she said hi to me shyly"

"I think I have an idea why she hates you but I gotta talk to her first," I said climbing into the passenger side of Cindy's car. The car was completely silent the way to the boy's hotel... no music blastin, no nothing. Cindy said bye to Nick ignoring Brian's presence while I said a cheery goodbye to both of them. They both got out of the car and I could feel the tension being relieved. "Well what you wanna do for the next month? We have no work cuz they're doing repairs and all that shit," I asked breaking the silence.

"Sleep," she replied obviously more comfortable with no Brian in the car.

We kicked back at Cindy's place for the rest of the afternoon, she used the time we were together wisely bagging on me. "Damn your head's shaped like a cone- head," she said rubbing my head. I whined as she picked up her beanie baby Nuts. She threw it at me and yelled, "Watch out Nuts is gunna eat your corn-nut head if you're not carefull!!!!" I picked up a pillow off her bed and threw it at her. It smacked her right in the head, she began taking stuffed animals off her shelf and bombing me with them I shielded myself with another pillow. When she ran out of ammunition I quickly dashed over to her tackling her to the carpeted floor, oh how I wish it was hard wood. As her head bounced off the soft ground I tickled her, doing my best to pin down her arms and legs.

"STOP, I'm serious... if you... keep... tickling me... there... might... be... a yellow... puddle... on the... floor," Cindy said between laughs.

"Ewwww!" I shreiked backing away. I glanced over to the clock and said, "Oops! I gotta get going... I promised to be home for dinner."

"Okay," she said showing me to the door. I told her I'd call her and walked a block away to my apartment complex. The phone rang as I walked through the door. "I GOT IT!!!" I yelled to andybody who was listening to me, which is usually nobody.

"Hello?" I answered out of breath.

"Hey it's me," the familiar voice stated on the other line.

"Oh hey Nick what can I do you for?"

"Oh just calling to see what you and Cindy were doing tomorrow"

"Nothing and I dont think Cindy's doing anything either. Why?"

"Oh cuz me and the guys were gunna go to Magic and we were wondering if you'd like to come along"

"Brians gunna be going right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Oh come on you saw how Cindy and him were acting around each other. I'm surprised she didnt cut his head off"

"True, but we can make sure they're within safe distance so nobody will get decapitated."

"Okay fine, let me call Cindy and I'll get back to you in two hours or so"

"It takes two hours for you to ask her one question?"

"No that takes at least five minutes"

"Then what's the other hour and fifty-five minutes for"

"I gotta eat and according to everybody its takes me forever to eat"

"Okay then bye"

"Bye"

We hung up and I quickly dialed Cindy's phone number. It rang once and somebody answered the phone. "Hello?" Cindy's mom answered. "May I please speak to Cindy?" I asked politely. "Okay hold on," she replied. "Hello," Cindy answered. "Hmm," I replied. She always knows its me when I answer like that, its sort of a code thing we have.

"Oh hey. whats up?"

"I just wanted to ask if you wanna go to Magic Mountain with us?"

"And us would be?"

"The guys and me"

"That means Brian will be there right?"

"Right"

"Then no, I should of never went back to that table to say sorry to that ass"

"What happened anyways?"

"I snapped at him earlier in the back room and then I went to say I was sorry but then the fire happened before I could and well you know..."

"But why are you still mad at him, I mean you wanted to apologize when you woke up right?"

"Yeah but I guess I was too tired to notice what big of a mistake I was about to do, and plus I wasnt up to full stength to argue"

"What do you mean mistake? No wait I'll call you later I gots to eat, sorry"

"What time?"

"I dunno, I promised Nick I'd call him to tell him if you were going to Magic with us... are you?"

"Oh-tay I'll go... promise you'll call?"

"Yes"

"But last time you said you'd call you didnt"

"Dont worry I will call you"

"Okay you better... bye!"

"Bye"

"Buenos Nachos!!!!!!!!!"

Cindy traditionally hung up first and I droped the reciever in its cradle a second after. I ate my dinner and called Nick's cell. Ringgg... Ringggg... Ringgggg "pick up dammit," I said impatiently. Ringgg... Ringggg... Ri- "Hello?" an exasperated voice asked on the line.

"Hey Nick, you seem a bit outta breath," I answered.

"Oh hey Nanc, and you would be too if you had interviews, concerts, photo shoots, fans, and rehearsals running into your already busy schedule 24/7," Nick commented.

"Well if youre busy I should get to the point and tell you that Cindy is going with us tomorrow," I said in one breath.

"Oh you didnt have to do that, I just finished what I was doing. Are you too outta breath to talk to me now?" Nick asked referring to my deep breathing. I talked to him for a few of hours about sex, drugs, love, hate, and most of all what we like to do for fun. Just let me tell you Nick's freakier than he seems (wink, wink). It was around midnight when we both hung up since Nick and I were practically asleep towards the end of our friendly conversation.

THE NEXT DAY...

"You talked to him for three hours?" Cindy screamed at me as I told her what happened last night. We were outside her house waiting for Eric and the boys to pick us up.

"Yeah," I replied shyly afraid of what she might say/scream next.

"But you never talk to me that long, every time I try to talk to you that long you end up saying you're busy or you have to go potty or go eat which takes you forever," she argued.

"But-" she cut me off.

"And on top of that you didnt even call me back like you promised"

"Yeah, but, you know..." was my only pathetic reply.

"Fine den!" she said throwing up her hands.

The bus slowly came into view. We hopped onto it and Cindy headed towards the driver, Eric, while I made my way towards the entertainment room where I found all five of the boys kicking back watching The Fifth Element.

"Where's Cindy?" Kevin asked. "In the front of the bus talking to Eric about how much I'm not a friend to her. She's pissed at me once again," I answered sitting next to Brian.

"Why is she mad at you?" Nick asked concerned.

"Because me and you talked for the longest last night, she's pretty jealous. But I think she'll be fine by the time we get to Magic cause she already blew up at me," I replied.

"As long as she doesn't blow up at me," Brian commented looking at the ground.

The rest of us just looked at each other not knowing what to say we just turned our head towards the T.V. screen and watched intently while a little tension lingered through the room.

"Whatcha guys watching, oh wait I know this... The Fifth Element?" Cindy asked as she casually walked into the entertainment room.

"Yeah," I answered feeling the tension grow as she took a seat next to Howie.

"She aint the perfect person, look at her hair it's all nappy," Cindy commented as the Diva began to sing showing small fighting scenes of Le Lu and the alien dudes. Every one began to snicker at her remark, except for Brian. It became more uncomfortable watching every one with a smile upon their faces as Brian just dawged Cindy. The laughing died down when Cindy bagan to dawg Brian back. I knew their differences were getting a little outta hand so I got up outta my seat and pulled Cindy out of the room.

"Why do you hate him so much?" I asked upset at her childish behavior.

"Well if you would have called me last night then maybe I would have told you," she said, obviously taking out her anger on me. I followed her back into the entertainment room walking into Nick and Brian's conversation as everyone watched them talk.

"I just wish I never had saved her from that fire," Brian said obviously not knowing we walked into the room.

"Yeah and some times I wish you never had saved me, but life is far too wonderful to pass up," Cindy said as everyone's heads turned toward her direction.

"And what do you mean by that?" Brian asked angrily.

"Exactly what I said," Cindy retorted.

"I just dont understand you Cindy," Brian said turning to her.

"You're not supposed to understand me," she snapped back.

"Then how do you expect me to know you if I'm not suppose to understand you?"

"Who said I expected you to know me? I just said that if you were to judge me then get to know me first at least, rather than just basing me on one little conversation. Its about what you know so fuck what you think!!"

"But you never give me the opportunity to get to know you!!!"

"Well then try harder!!!!!"

"Why are you like this to me?!? I didnt do shit to you, hell I even saved your life!! Look in the mirror for once, you talk about not basing people on just one conversation and you're getting all bitchy on one thing that I said!!!!!!"

"I'm not bitchy to you just because of what you said, it's how it made me feel... and you dont know the pain it caused me!!!!!!!!!"

"Well why didnt you just tell me? Why do you still hate me?"

"I just dont open up and spill my feelings to everybody that walks by, I was waiting for you to get on my good side but ever since after the hospital you've been on my bad side!!!!!!!!"

"What can I do to get on your good side?"

"Figure it out yourself"

"See what I mean why cant you give me a chance?"

"What do you want me to do raise my hand and say 'All is forgiven'? Well it's not that easy"

"Why cant you cast your feelings aside and be nice to me"

"It's not that easy, and you havent been all too nice to me either"

"Name at least one time"

"At the park when you poured that bottle of water on me"

"I was being playful"

"And if you would of let me explain why I snapped at you at the table then maybe I wouldn't of got caught in that fire"

"But I saved you"

"Yeah... I know. But why did you save me?"

At this time both of them had calmed down a bit and sat on the couch talking gently to each other. I scooted everybody out of the room including myself, giving them their privacy, and plus I felt that both of them were calm enough to not hurt each other.

I TAKE ITS TIME FOR CINDY TO TAKE OVER AGAIN...

I sat there waitting for Brian to give me his answer.

"I dont know, I just felt that as much as I hated you at the moment the world didn't deserve to lose you," he answered.

Even though I blamed him for my near death experience I was grateful that it happened because then I would have never met Hugo. Things became more gentle between us as we began to work out our differences.

"Why are you so nice to me, even at the park. Why?" I asked curiously.

"While you were in the hospital Nancy told me a lot about you, you seemed like a very interesting person to get to know myself. And even though the last time I talked to you at the store I felt like I didnt wanna lose you"

"What do you mean you didnt wanna lose me?"

"I just felt like there was much more to you than some bitch that snapped at me, I didnt wanna lose you before I got to know you better"

His eyes softened and I practically melted as he said what he said. "Looks like were here" I said changing the subject, afraid of what was going to happen next. He looked out the window and said, "I guess we are"

We joined the rest of the group in the kitchenette. "Every thing cool with you two?" Nancy asked with concern filled in her voice.

"Yeah," we said in unison.

Eric joined us and we began our journey to the entrance. All the guys pulled the rim of their hats over their eyes. Three body guards tagged along. It was early in the morning so the sun wasnt as blaring as I knew it could be. First we rode all the rides in Gotham City, Riddlers Revenge is the best ride ever. Then we waited ten minutes in line to ride Collosus. The park wasn't that crowded since it was a week day but it did close at six so we had to make the most of the time that we were there. We rode at least half of the rides before we came to Cyclone Bay, there we splashed around on Jet Stream and Roaring Rapids. The line to Roaring Rapids was extremely long so we began horsing around singing songs like All My Life by K-Ci and JoJo but of course the boys were more in tune than the rest of us, but let me tell you that the bodyguards probably picked up a few hinters from the boys cause they were'nt that bad at all.

"You have a beautiful voice," Eric whispered into my ear.

"Oh shut up!" I replied giving him a smack on his shoulder. The line inched forward as Eric grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the line with him.

"What the hell?" I asked in total shock.

"Oh I just thought we could be alone for a while you know without nine other people with us. Is it okay with you?" he asked politely but far to late if I said no since we were already out of the line.

"Fine with me, on the looks of thinkgs I dont think they'd really miss us," I answered glancing over to the guy's direction noticing that they were singing their own rendition of Happily Ever After by Case.

"Yeah looks like it, so where do you wanna go next?" He asked as we walked towards a little lemonade stand.

"What do you say we buy some lemonade and stand in line to Tidal Wave?" I asked pulling out my soaked wallet from my cargo pants.

"Sure if they accept wet dollars," he joked. We got our lemonades successfully, wet dollars and all, and headed towards Tidal Wave.

"Ahhhhh," I whined.

"What's wrong?" Eric asked worried.

"Oh I think I drank too fast so I got a brain freeze," I answered.

He laughed at me as we approached the not so long line. I playfully smacked him upside the head, his hair flew forward so he gently slicked it back with his hand. We arrived to the front of the line and took our seats way in the back, you never get soaked if you sit in the front. Unfortunately we didnt get all too soaked in the back either. We got off the ride and decided to stand at the bridge that towered above the drop where Tidal Wave makes a tidal wave at least 50 feet into the air. We stood there waiting to get soaked and as the boat came down about to splash us Eric threw me infront of him getting me soaked from head to toe while he stayed dry. I stood in total shock at all the water that soaked me, I was dreanched and he was dry.

"Are you okay?" he asked concerned.

"Do I look okay?" I asked sarcastically, I stormed away pretending to be pissed. He chased after me and as the second boat came splashing its way down I stoped and pushed him into the gigantic wave. He stood there shocked and I ran away, of course he chased me. I ran into the Riddlers Revenge line and he followed right after me. I made my way through the tangling ropes that made up the line and cut through since nobody was standing in line. He finally caught me hugging me tighly with his wet yet warm body. "Let go of me you freak!!" I yelled as people began to stare. We waited patiently in the fornt of the line for the cars to start pulling up, he still held me tightly. We got onto the ride standing all the way in the front. The ride slowly crept upwards ready to make its first drop, being the stupid one I am I screamed my heart out even before the ride began, it usually made me relax more rather than making my heart beat faster in anticipation.

"MOOOOMMMMMYYYYYY!!!!" I screamed to the top of my lungs as we went through the first few loops. I could hear Eric laugh a little at my remark. The ride stopped and my hair was all over the place. Eric turned to me and said, "I like your hair"

"Thank you I like yours too," I replied trying to fix my hair but the ride's shoulder rests were in the way. We got off the ride and I dizzily swayed.

"Are you okay?" Eric asked.

"Yeah, just a little dizzy, I think we should go eat lunch now" I suggested.

"Yeah, I'm starved" he said rubbing his tummy. His shirt was still a little wet clinging to his built body and his hair was dry and glistening in the sun. Riddler's sort of acted like a blow dryer cause both of us were somewhat dry. "Where do you wanna eat? My treat of course" he asked politely.

"No, my treat this time since you did treat me last time," I stated not really waiting for him to say 'okay' I lead the way to the nearest food place and ordered us some pizza and drinks.

"Thanks," he said.

"No problem," I replied.

We spent the rest of the day together, joking around, and headed back towards the entrance by six so we could meet up with the rest of them. Ironically enough we didn't see any of them the whole day after Eric and I ditched them. We were walking right under the part of Viper that crossed over the crosswalk when Eric stopped me in my tracks.

"I need to tell you something," he stated waiting for me to say something. I just nodded and he continued, "Well, I really had a nice time just hanging with you. I just wanted to-"

He got cut off by the sound of the cars of Viper squeaking and rolling above us, all I could see were his lips moving.
